The Wandering Aerial Spirits of Solomon

The 31 Aerial Spirits mentioned by King Solomon in Ars Theurgia Goetia are said to operate around the four positions of the compass. Although some of these spirits have fixed position and directions where they operate, there are still other 11 spirits who wander about through all the directions. These aerial spirits are called the Wandering Spirits.

The following are the Wandering Spirits and their major followers:

1. Garadiel:

Authority:

He has 18,150 servants, but no prince or dukes beneath him. The number of his attendants varies according to the time of the day or night. All his servants are good natured and obedient.

2. Buriel

Authority:

Buriel has rule over many dukes and servants. All are evil and are hated by other spirits.

Summoning:

These spirits are best summoned at night and on appearing, they take the form of a serpent with a virfin head. They also speak with the voice of a man.

Buriel’s major 12 dukes are Sarviel, Casbriel, Nedriel, , Drubiel,  Merosiel, Almadiel, Cupriel, Bufiel, Futiel, Drusiel, Camiel and Nastros.

3. Hydriel

Authority:

Hydriel has 100 great dukes and 200 lesser dukes. These dukes also have servants beneath them.  The 12 chief dukes each have 1,320 servants.

Summoning:

These demons should be summoned at their appropriate planetary time. They usually take the form of a serpent with a virgin head and face.  They are obedient and courteous unlike the servants of Buriel. They prefer to be around water and moist places.

The 12 major dukes of Hydriel are Musuziel, Lameniel, Barchiel, Camiel, Arbiel, Luciel , Samiel, Mortoliel, Chamoriel, Pelariel, Dusiriel, and Chariel.

4. Pirichiel

Authority:

Pirichiel has no dukes or princes under his command, but he has dukes beneath him, and each has 2,000 servants.

Summoning:

The spirits must be summoned at the right planetary hour, and when they appear, they are good-natured and obedient.

The eight chief knights are Nemariel, Menariel, Damarsiell, Cardiel, Almasor Demediel, Hursiel, and Cuprisiel.

5. Emoniel

Authority:

Emoniel has 100 princes and chief dukes, 20 lesser dukes, and many servants beneath him.

Summoning:

These spirits live mostly in the woods. You can summon them according to their planetary hours. When they appear, they are usually very obedient. .

The 12 major dukes are Dramiel, Pandiel, Vasenel, Ennoniel, Edriel, Camodiel, Phanuel, Nasiniet, Armesiel, Cruhiet, Oaspeniel, and Musiniel.

6. Icosiel

Authority:

Icosiel has 100 dukes, 300 companions, and many servants. His 15 chief dukes have 2,200 servants working under them.

Summoning and Appearance:

They can be summoned at day and night. They are usually very willing to do the bidding of the exorcist.  Icosiel and his demons mainly appear in houses. His 15 principal dukes are Larphiel, Amediet, Cambriet, Mchariel, Pischiel, Thanatiel, Zosiel, Agapiel, Nathriel, Zachartel, Munefiel, Heresiel, Athesiel, Cumariel,  and Ubaniel.

7. Soleviel

Authority:

Soleviel commands 200 dukes and 200 companions. These spirits have many servants who wander from place to place. The 12 chief dukes have 1,840 servants who are obedient and good-natured. The 12 dukes are Inachiel, , Nadrusiel, Cobusiel, Amriel, Axosiel, Praxeel, Moracha, Almodar , Charoel, Prasiel, Mursiel, and Penador.

8. Menadiel

Authority:

Menadiel has 20 dukes and 100 companions and many servants under his command. These demons must be summoned according to their planetary hours. His chief dukes are Benodiel, Charsiel, Larmol, Drasiel, Clamor, and Samyel. The six lesser dukes are, Nedriel, Curasin, Barchiel, Amasiel, Baruch and Tharson.

9. Macariel

Macariel has 12 chief dukes, who have 400 servants. These servants are all good-natured and willing to obey an Exorcist. They appear mostly in a dragon with a virgin head form. The 12 chief dukes are Claniel, Drusiel, Romyel, Mastuet, Varpiel,  Andros, Charoel, Asmadiel, Gremiel, Thuriel, Brufiel, and Lemodac.

10. Uriel

Uriel  (“fire of God” or “sun of God”) is a wandering duke of the air. He rules over 10 chief dukes and 100 lesser dukes with numerous servants. They are evil, disobedient, false, and deceitful.

Appearance:

They appear in the form of a serpent with a virgin’s head and face. The 10 chief dukes are Brymiel, Dragon, Curtnas, Chabri, Drabros, Nartniel, Frasmiel, Draplos, Hermon, and Aldrusy. Uriel is also the name of an archangel.

11. Bidiel

He is the final wandering spirit who rules over 20 dukes and 200 lesser dukes, and many  other servants. These dukes change their offices and locations every year.

Appearance:

They appear in the form of beautiful humans and are usually obedient to the bidding of the exorcist.  The 10 great dukes are Mudiret, Lameniel, Andruchiel, Merasiel, Cruchan, Bramsiel, Armomiel Charoblel, Parsifiel, and Chremoas.
