Protection Oils are used to anoint any manner of objects in order to enhance the purity of spiritual vibrations. Using protection oils in witchcraft, spells, and rituals is important for several reasons:

  1. Energetic Shielding: Protection oils help create an energetic barrier against negative influences, entities, or harmful energies. This can provide a sense of safety during rituals or in daily life.
  2. Focus and Intention: Applying protection oils can enhance your focus and intention during spellwork. The ritual of anointing can deepen your commitment to the protective energy you’re invoking.
  3. Enhancing Rituals: These oils can amplify the effectiveness of spells and rituals, particularly those aimed at banishing negativity or safeguarding against ill-will.
  4. Spiritual Cleansing: Protection oils often have cleansing properties that can help dispel stagnant or unwanted energies from your space or aura.
  5. Symbolic Meaning: The ingredients in protection oils, like herbs and essential oils, carry specific symbolic meanings. For example, certain oils may invoke courage, strength, or wisdom, which can enhance your protective work.
  6. Personal Empowerment: Using protection oils can empower practitioners by giving them a tangible tool to manage their spiritual and emotional well-being, promoting confidence and self-assuredness.

Incorporating protection oils into your practices can create a more robust and intentional approach to your witchcraft, fostering a safer and more supportive environment for your spiritual work.

Other protection oils you could create:

Protection Oil #1

This is such as perfect protection oil made with tried and true protection style ingredients that you may just have in your kitchen cupboard! I suggest you add locally sourced ingredients to either add or replace the bay leaves. For example, I add eucalyptus leaves when in Australia. Also, I will sometimes use Pink Salt.

  • 1/4 cup base oil, such as olive or jojoba
  • 1 tbsp. castor oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 3 whole dried bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • Fine tip felt pen,
  •  black Glass or enamel pot
  • Wooden spoon
  • Strainer or cheese cloth
  • Bottle or container

EASY to follow steps:

  1.  Pour your base oil into your pot and put it on the stove on low heat.
  2.  Crush the garlic with the flat side of a knife. Remove the skin. Put the garlic clove into the pot of oil.
  3.  Draw the symbol of the pentagram, a powerful ancient symbol of protection, on each of the bay leaves using a fine tip felt pen. Place them into the pot.
  4. Add one tbsp. of castor oil and 1 tsp. of kosher salt to the mixture.
  5. Stir the oil mixture clockwise with a wooden spoon. Do not allow the oil to simmer or boil; just heat it for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Take the mixture off of the heat and allow it to cool.
  7. Strain it through a strainer, or two layers of cheese cloth, into a container.
  8. It can be stored for up to 6 weeks in a cool, dark place.
