How to use it
White or gold candle.
Carve the name of the person, the house, or the thing you are blessing, base to wick. Dress the candle with Blessing Oil, drawing the oil up and toward you. Set it in the center of the room or on the altar. Speak the blessing out loud. Let it burn clean.
Doors and thresholds.
Anoint the top of the door and both sides of the frame, working inward. That is how you call blessing into the house instead of sending it out. Do the front door first. Then the bedroom. Then the room that has been the most unsettled.
Floor wash.
A few drops in a bucket of water with salt. Wash toward the back of the house or toward the door you want peace to enter through. Do not treat this like a banishing mop. You are laying a condition, not chasing one out.
Tools and petitions.
A thin film on a new deck, a pendulum, a statue, a written prayer, or a seal. Name what the object is for while you dress it. One sentence is enough.
On the body.
Pulse points, brow, and the hollow of the throat before ritual or before you walk into a house that needs settling. A drop on the crown of a child or on the hands of someone starting over.
Shake before use.
Sunday, the waxing moon, or dawn if you can choose the hour. You can still bless a door at 11 p.m. if the house will not wait.
