How to Use a Pendulum

To begin, hold the chain or cord gently between your thumb and forefinger so that the weighted end hangs freely. It can be helpful to rest your elbow on a table for stability. First, ask the pendulum to show you its movement for “Yes.” Observe how it moves. It may swing back and forth, side to side, or move in a circle. Next, ask it to show you its movement for “No” and note the difference. Once you have established these movements, you can begin asking your questions.

If you are not immediately feeling a strong connection with the pendulum, that is completely normal. Come back to it regularly and simply practice. Like any form of divination, working with a pendulum becomes more comfortable with time and repetition.
