Spell to get rid of your competition

 

Have you got someone standing in the lane you were already walking, and every time you think you have a clear shot they are suddenly there with a better smile, a cheaper price, or their hand on the person you want, and you are sitting there going, is this just life being shitty or do I actually need to do something about it lol.

What I mean is, you already know who is in the way. You do not need me to help you find them. What you might need is somebody to stop treating every rival like they take the same working, because the person after your money, the person after your man, the person after your job, and the person after your clients are not the same fight even though they all make you want them gone.

So this is what this post is going to do. I am going to walk the different types of competition that sit under this heading, give you examples from work I have actually seen, put folk options next to spirit options, and then give you numbered steps so you can follow them without guessing. Then I will tell you why those steps are in that order, because I do not want you copying a working you do not understand and then deciding the magic is the problem.

 

What I mean by competition

Competition means two or more people want a result that cannot be split down the middle in the way you want it split. That is the fact. “Make them go away” is a mood sitting on top of that fact, and a mood is not a request a jar or a spirit can follow cleanly.

I have seen what happens when somebody skips that and just grabs the meanest work on the shelf. A woman wanted her boyfriend’s ex to lose interest, and she ran it like a business curse, and the current did what business curses do, which is chew at livelihood and reputation. Nobody asked it to do that to the boyfriend too, but currents are not great at reading your private footnotes, which is why the type matters even when you already know the face.

Business competition

This is the other shop, the other reader, the other contractor, the page that is louder or cheaper or prettier on Instagram, or they just keep getting to the client first. You already know if this is your one. Most of the time it is not personal even when it feels personal, and that is the bit people hate hearing, because sometimes the other person is just answering the phone. Sometimes they are eating your work. Those two stories need different medicine.

What winning usually looks like here is the custom coming to you and their luck going thin in your lane. The other business bursting into flames is a fun five minutes. It is not usually the job.

If I am doing this in folk work, I do not start by crossing them. I start by asking whether anybody can even find you.

1. Draw the custom first. Lodestone and magnetic sand, honey or sugar on the clients or the town, cinnamon and Fast Luck on the money, dressing the door and the till so the house knows who it belongs to. You are training the current to walk into your place.
2. Drive them out of your lane only if they are poaching. That is hot foot and get-away work on the path they use to reach your people. This does not make you prettier. It makes them uncomfortable where they are standing.
3. Crossing and uncrossing only if they are coming at your work on purpose, because that is a different temperature than somebody having a nicer logo.

Why that order. If nobody can find you, a baneful working is you shouting at an empty street. I have watched people spend three months hexing a competitor and never once dress the door, and then they want to know why the other girl is still booked.

If I am putting a spirit on the same job, Clauneck is the one I think of when it is treasure and cash flow and someone else standing where your customers should be. Bune if you need the money to move and your name said in a useful way. Eligos if you need the lay of the land and a bit of favour from whoever decides where the work goes. Andromalius if what they are doing is theft, lifting your material, taking rather than competing. Lucifer only comes in if the real problem is that you will not hold your own authority in the marketplace, because that is a will problem dressed up as a sales problem. I do not reach for Andras first here. A war spirit will fight, and fighting is not the same as getting paid.

Workplace competition

This is the coworker who is always in the room when credit is being handed out, or the one who smiles in the meeting and then walks your idea down the hall with their name on it. This type runs on perception, access, and who already has the boss’s ear, which is why a destroy-them candle can land and you still do not get the promotion.

So you might be saying, do I want them gone or do I want to be the one who gets chosen. Those are different jobs. Say which one you mean, because the work will follow the sentence.

1. Work on being seen. Crown of Success, commanding and sweetening on the person who decides, dressing yourself so the room actually looks at you. If you are still shrinking every time you open your mouth, the curse on them will not make you look ready.
2. Shut-your-mouth work if the problem is their tongue, the gossip, the idea walking down the hall.
3. Hot foot off the job only if the honest request is that they do not stay in that seat.

Why I put being seen first. I have done enough energy work on sales people and public-facing people to tell you their fields are usually full of everybody else’s opinion before the coworker even starts. You can move Janet. You still have to walk into the room.

Spirits I would even consider here. Orobas if they are lying or smudging your name. Forneus if you need to be heard and regarded. Eligos again, because offices run on who has the ear of the person in charge. Andras only if they have stopped being a rival and started being an enemy who is trying to break you. I keep Andras off Janet from accounts, because you will still have to sit in that office five days a week, and a Marquis of Hell is a lot of weather for a mildly annoying coworker when a name paper and a bit of sense would have done.

Love competition

The other woman, the other man, the ex who will not get off the stage, the friend who is just comforting them a little too well. You know the face. This one gets more of my mouth because this is the type that disappoints people the most, and it disappoints them because they ask for one thing and light a working that does another thing.

You are not competing for a contract here. You are competing for a person’s will, and a person’s will can surprise you. If you are asking to be loved while they are actively choosing someone else, you need to hear yourself. That is not me being holy. That is me telling you why the jar went weird.

Folk magic already split this drawer, and I wish people would let it stay split.

1. Come-to-me if the job is pull. Sweetening. Making you the one they look at.
2. Stay-with-me if they are already yours and the rival is tugging.
3. Hot foot the rival if you want them off the porch and out of the story.
4. Break-up and souring if what you actually want is the pair not sitting easy together.

Why I number them instead of throwing them in one pot. People mash all four into one angry jar and then the working tastes like everything and behaves like nothing. So you might be saying, is this really a love spell. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it is just you trying to win a fight with somebody’s pants.

If you want a spirit in that same drawer, listen to what you actually asked. Dantalion if the work is thought and feeling. Sitri and Zepar if the work is heat and pull. Gremory if you need that particular regard. Asmodeus sits closer to the messy sexual current, and people call him for triangles because triangles are his native weather, which does not make him your couples counsellor. I have had too many people ask a lust spirit to do a banishment and then come back and say it only made them hornier for each other, and I am sitting there like, yes, darling, you hired the DJ and asked him to evict the guests. If you had used the folk shelves first you would have heard the mismatch before you ever drew a sigil.

Competition with a date on it

Sports, auditions, elections, court dates, anything with a whistle and a calendar. You already know the date. This type is short and hot and it wants a finish line, which is why people mess it up by treating it like a five-year business war and then they are exhausted before the match. Or they treat a business rival like a ninety-minute game, do one flashy night, and the other shop is still trading on Monday.

1. Work on you for the window. High John, lucky hand, a dressed light for the date, something that steadies your hand.
2. A short thinning of their luck for that same window, not a lifestyle curse you forget to take off.
3. Stop when the date is done.

Why you stop. Timed competition wants a peak, and folk work is very good at peaks if you do not turn Saturday into a house guest. If a spirit is going on this, Marchosias and Kimaris are the sort of current you want for a defined stretch. Mars as a planetary current, Tuesday heat, even if you are not doing full ceremonial. Andras if it is genuinely adversarial and you need them off their game, not just you on yours. You can have a long relationship with a spirit and still ask for a short job. What you should not do is move a war spirit into the house for a match and then give them nothing to do on Sunday.

When the other person is a caster

Yes, this lives under the same heading, and you already know if this is the one you are in, because now it is current hitting current. Another witch, another caster, the page that decided your clients were theirs. If your field is open you are not competing. You are collecting.

1. Uncross and wash first, because you do not throw work off a dirty step and then act surprised it slid.
2. Protection on the body, the house, the business. Return-to-sender if they are already throwing.
3. Then the competition work, draw or drive, once you are not a screen door.

Why that order. I have watched people throw a competition curse with their field hanging open and then spend three months asking why everything felt louder. It felt louder because they rang the bell. On the spirit side, start with the ones you already have a relationship with for cover. Lucifer for the spine, because if you cannot hold your own energy in front of the spiritual world you have no business starting a pissing contest with another caster. Andras if it has gone past rivalry into attack. Vine if you need walls down and hidden things seen. Orobas if their method is ruining your name. And look, some of you want a war spirit when what you needed was a bath and a spine.

How you choose the work

You do not choose the competitor. You already have one. You choose the motion, once you know which type you are standing in.

1. Say the type out loud like you would say it to me at the table. This is business. This is the office. This is love. This is Saturday. This is another caster. That sentence is for the work.
2. Say what winning looks like if they do not die, move to Mars, or burst into tears in a car park. If the only picture you have is them ruined, you are in revenge, and revenge is a cousin of this work but it is not the same working. Do not lie to the jar or the spirit about which cousin you brought.
3. Say whether you need pull, push, or cover. Pull is you getting bigger and the opportunity coming toward you. Push is them losing traction in your lane. Cover is their mess not landing. Most people need two and they only buy the push, which is why they feel mean and still hungry.

Why that order. Folk conditions and spirits both answer the sentence you actually made, not the novel in your head while the candle was catching. If you are not clear they will still work. They will just work the sentence, and then you will email me like the universe is rude.

Folk work and spirit work sit next to each other

Folk magic puts the job in the stuff, the hands, and the tending. Honey, vinegar, powder, a light you keep feeding, a step you keep washing. Spirit work puts the job in a being with appetite and a long memory. Neither is the toy version of the other, and I use both because they are good at different parts of the same problem.

They stack when the motion matches. A honey jar and Clauneck can want the same customers. Hot foot and a push can want the same person off your porch. What does not stack is come-to-me on him and a war current on the house, because now one current says stay and one says wreck, and then everything gets loud and nobody gets married.

If you go the spirit road, offerings and gratitude are not a footnote. You show up. You give. You do not vanish like a bad date the morning the money hits. Folk work notices the same thing in a different kitchen. You feed the magnet. You keep the light. You do not do one messy night, ignore the jar for six weeks, and call the tradition weak.

And expectation needs saying too, because this is where people get hurt. A spirit can thin a rival’s luck, turn a head, sour a deal, put grit in somebody’s gears, make you the one who is seen. A jar can do a lot of that. Neither is going to do your whole personality for you. If you will not hold your own energy, if you feel not worthy of the win, that comes across, and then you are asking why would they help you take a prize you do not even feel allowed to keep.

If you are going to do this

Some of you do not have a competitor. You have an excuse. The other woman, the other shop, the other girl in the office becomes the reason you do not have to get better, get clearer, or admit he was never yours. Magic is very good at moving a piece on the board. It is less good at curing the story you like telling yourself. If that stings, good. Sit with it, then decide if you still want the working.

If you are new, do not start with a war spirit because the title says get rid of, and do not dump every powder you own on the same name either. Use the type you are already in. Then pick the folk shelf or the spirit that matches the motion, not the one that matches your temper.

If you already have a spirit, ask them first. People collect names like stickers when the one on the altar would have done it if they had just said it plainly. Same with the honey jar you have been ignoring. It will not get better because you panic-glued a sigil to the lid.

Wherever you are on this, I get it. Wanting someone out of your way is a very human feeling, and I am not here to make you ashamed of it, and I am also not here to turn you into me. I do not need a coven full of people hexing every cashier who breathed near their man. I want you to take one action from the fight you are already in, with the type of competition you already have, and to let the heading you are standing under tell you which shelf to reach for.
