Although many people come to this section because of a love relationship, the same principles apply to other kinds of bonds that need to end.

A “breakup” in magical terms simply means severing an unwanted connection and creating lasting distance. That connection can exist between:

  • Romantic partners or spouses
  • Ex-partners who will not fully release each other
  • Friends whose relationship has become toxic or draining
  • Family members where ongoing contact is harmful
  • Business partners or colleagues when the professional relationship has turned destructive
  • Anyone who maintains an unhealthy emotional or energetic hold over another person

The underlying work remains the same: cutting the cord, dissolving the spiritual contract, and reducing the pull that keeps drawing the two parties back into contact or conflict. The outer form of the relationship may differ, but the energetic problem is often identical.

When the connection is not romantic, the practical obstacles can still be significant. Shared finances, family ties, workplace proximity, or social circles may keep the people linked even after the cord is weakened. These factors need to be taken into account in the same way they are in romantic cases.

Whether the relationship is romantic, familial, friendly, or professional, the goal of the work is clear separation and the restoration of distance.

Understanding Romantic Relationship Breakup Spells and Realistic Expectations

Breakup spells bring up more frustration than almost any other type of work we do. This section is here so you can make a clear decision about whether to invest in this kind of magic, and whether you want to cast it yourself or have someone else handle it.

First, a straight statement: breakup spells are successful in what they are actually designed to do. The difficulty lies in what people expect that success to look like.

What the magic primarily does is break the cord, or the spiritual contract, that has formed or is forming between two people. That cord is the energetic link that keeps drawing them back toward each other, sustaining attachment, obsession, or the sense that the connection is still alive. When the cord is properly cut or the contract is dissolved, the pull between them weakens. In many cases it collapses.

This does not always mean the two people will separate in the exact way or on the exact timeline the client wants.

People stay together or break apart for many reasons that have nothing to do with love.

Shared housing, money, children, fear, pride, convenience, social pressure, or simple habit can keep a relationship standing even after the deeper bond has been severed. Magic can remove the spiritual glue. It cannot always force every practical and psychological factor to collapse at the same moment.

This is where frustration arises.

A client may feel the energetic shift, notice the other person pulling away or becoming colder, and still see the relationship continue in some outer form for a while. Others experience a clean and rapid break. Both outcomes can be the result of successful cord cutting. The difference lies in how many non-magical factors are still holding the situation in place.

Another Common Complication

In modern times there is a further issue that frequently appears. While you are working to break the connection, other people may be working just as hard to keep it together.

This can include the other person in the relationship casting their own spells or prayers, family members intervening magically, or friends lighting candles and doing work on behalf of the couple. In some cases multiple people are actively feeding energy into the bond at the same time you are trying to sever it.

When this happens the situation becomes a contest of currents rather than a simple cord cutting. Your work may still be effective, but it has to overcome ongoing magical support coming from the opposite direction. This is one reason some breakups take longer than expected, or appear to stall after an initial shift. The cord is under pressure from more than one side.

It is worth considering this possibility before you begin. If the relationship has people around it who are strongly invested in keeping it alive, the work required is often heavier and more sustained than a single spell.

As already discussed, people stay together or separate for many reasons beyond love or magical cords. Shared living situations, money, children, fear, pride, family pressure, and habit can all keep a relationship standing even after the energetic bond has been weakened. Magic can sever the cord. It cannot always collapse every practical and emotional structure around it at the same speed.

Getting Them Back to You

Bringing someone back is an entirely separate matter.

Even if the other relationship ends, it does not automatically mean the person will return to you. Reconciliation depends heavily on what happened between you in the first place and on the state in which things were left.

We always look at the reasons the original relationship broke down. Some situations are far more difficult to reverse than others.

The following issues commonly make reconciliation harder:

  • The relationship ended in violence or serious threats
  • There was ongoing aggression, intimidation, or heavy control
  • Constant accusations, suspicion, or jealousy became the normal atmosphere
  • One person was repeatedly demeaning, hostile, or contemptuous toward the other
  • Nagging, criticism, or emotional pressure was frequent and unresolved
  • Trust was broken through lies, betrayal, or repeated broken promises
  • One person made the other feel unsafe, small, or permanently on edge
  • The separation involved public humiliation, revenge, or drawn-out conflict
  • There is still active resentment, fear, or emotional exhaustion on the other side
  • They are disgusted by you because of one reason or another.
  • Their family hates you for a specific reason, and they agree with the family.

When several of these factors are present, a simple “bring them back” spell is rarely enough. The history itself becomes an obstacle.

In these cases the work has to address not only desire and contact, but also the damage that was done and the reasons the person left or stayed away.

Is This Even Possible?

After reading the realities above, many people ask the same question: is this even possible at all?

That is exactly why we say there are no guarantees. In some cases the work succeeds in ways that surprise both us and the client. Results appear that no one could have neatly predicted. The spirits involved only know what they know, and sometimes they move matters in directions that logic alone would not expect.

This is also why we prefer to work from more than one angle when a situation is complex. A single spell can occasionally produce a clean and striking result. At other times the issues are so layered, volatile, or damaged that they need longer and deeper attention. Some problems have to be worked through slowly, allowed to soften, and addressed from several directions before anything real can shift.

There is magic, and then there are the rarer moments that feel closer to miracles. Both exist. The first is more common. The second cannot be ordered on demand. We stay honest about that difference so that anyone entering this kind of work does so with clear eyes.

 

Practical Ways to Move Forward

If you have read the difficulties involved and still want to proceed, there are several realistic ways to work the situation. They differ in cost, length, and how much of the problem they are able to cover.

Candle Magic

This is the most affordable approach. The basic method is to burn two candles side by side: one Break Up candle directed at the existing relationship, and one Come to Me candle directed toward drawing the person to you. Both need to burn together so the two currents run at the same time.

We recommend a minimum series of three candles. …..however, it may make more sense to keep the energy alive for as long as possible, and we like to say that the spirit is working on the situation while the flame is a light. Maybe seven or maybe nine candles might be better. 

ISSUE? – if you’re worrying about making something happen quickly, this may not be the right service for you. Because each jar candle can take around seven days to burn, and then times that by the number of candles you purchased, and that will give a rough idea of how long it’s going to take for this series to complete. (EG a series of nine candles taking seven days …this can take about two months of burning time on the altar ). This doesn’t bother us at all, but for somebody waiting for someone to break up, it can be frustrating, so you do need to take that into consideration. BUT…. Breakup magic can take a long time anyway, and we love breakup candles burning consistently in the background, almost above and beyond anything else, because it’s still asking a spirit to put pressure on their relationship. It’s doing so consistently over time !!!

What it provides is room to work the situation over time rather than relying on one or two isolated spells. Because these cases so often involve competing magic, practical obstacles, emotional damage, and unpredictable behaviour, a single casting is frequently not enough. The monthly format allows the work to address more of the moving parts and to adjust as things develop. It sits between basic candle work and a full intensive in both cost and depth.
