Who is this article written for? The Small Business Owner
Style of Magic Discussed? Witchcraft
Get ready! I’m giving you a massive inspiration list to begin this weekend. Let’s go!
Larger businesses need a different strategy.
Small to medium enterprises and those where you have staff and locations require a different strategy altogether. However, we have many small business owners, and perhaps it’s even you that could benefit from simple witchcraft on a consistent basis.
So today I will write to you, the small business owner who wonders what they can do to get into some sort of routine to bring consistent energy to their small business.
Yes, business success magic works, but only when it rides shotgun with real action, not instead of it.
Rituals sharpen focus and build the habits that make follow-up calls and marketing pushes actually happen.
Try this tonight: light a candle, write one specific business goal on paper, and read it aloud once before you blow it out. That’s the whole test.
How Ritual Work Actually Supports Business Outcomes
Skeptics usually picture business success magic as wishful thinking dressed up in candle smoke. The mechanism is more grounded than that. Writing a goal down and speaking it aloud forces your brain to define what “success” actually means this month, this quarter, this launch. That single act of specificity is doing real work before any herb or oil gets involved.
Practitioners who work intention into their business routines report something consistent: once a goal is named out loud, they start noticing openings they’d have walked past otherwise. A referral conversation lands differently. A stalled client suddenly emails back. That’s not coincidence dressed as magic. It’s attention, redirected and sharpened, and practitioners who write intentions down report shifts in how they notice and act on aligned opportunities.
Rituals also work as habit anchors. A candle lit every Thursday before you send invoices, or a five-minute focus practice before opening your inbox, gives your nervous system a repeatable cue. Repetition is what makes the behavior stick, and a conditioned ritual practice trains you to act in alignment with business goals through simple repetition.
What ritual can’t do is replace the outreach itself. A spell doesn’t send the email. It builds the discipline that makes you send it on time, every week, without the usual excuses. Three things a consistent ritual practice tends to improve:
- Follow-through on outreach you’d normally postpone
- Clarity about which client or product actually deserves your energy
- Confidence walking into a pitch, sale, or negotiation
Pro Tip: Pair every ritual with one calendar action, right then. Light the candle, then immediately schedule the three follow-up emails it’s supposed to be supporting. The ritual without the calendar entry is just a nice smell.
Copy-Ready Rituals: Jar Spell, Candle Work, and a Desk Reset
Three options here, sized for different amounts of time and risk tolerance. Start with the jar spell if you want something that builds over months. Use the candle working for a specific push, like a launch or a big sales week. Keep the desk ritual in your back pocket for the mornings when you need focus fast and have exactly five minutes.

The Business Success Jar Spell
This is the workhorse. It’s built to be tended weekly and reviewed monthly, not lit once and forgotten.
Materials:
- A small glass jar with a lid
- Dried basil (growth, prosperity)
- A whole bay leaf (write your business intention on it before adding)
- Cinnamon (quickens results, draws money)
- A spoonful of honey (sweetens outcomes, smooths client relationships)
- Three coins (any denomination, symbolic of steady income)
- A small chip of citrine or pyrite
- A short green or gold candle
Steps:
- Choose your timing. A Thursday during a waxing moon is a common choice for growth workings, since the waning-to-waxing cycle mirrors what you’re trying to build.
- Write your business intention in one clear sentence on the bay leaf. Specific beats vague. “I attract three new steady clients by [Season]” works better than “I want more money.”
- Layer the jar starting with the coins on the bottom, then basil, then cinnamon, then the bay leaf, then the citrine or pyrite chip.
- Pour honey over the layers until it settles into the gaps. Don’t overfill.
- Seal the jar and set the candle on top or beside it. Light it while holding the intention in mind, and let it burn down partially under supervision.
- Tend it weekly with a short relit candle burn. Review it monthly and rewrite the bay leaf if the goal has shifted.
This structure follows the same order and reasoning covered in most detailed jar spell guidance on materials, timing, and aftercare, which treats the jar as an ongoing altar rather than a one-time cast.
Candle Working for a Launch or Sales Push
Dress a gold or green candle with a small amount of High John the Conqueror oil, carving your business name or a short symbol into the wax first. Speak a direct affirmation, something like “This launch reaches the people ready to buy,” then burn the candle in a fireproof holder on a heatproof surface, never unattended, until it burns out naturally or you snuff it for the day.

The Five-Minute Desk Reset
For mornings when you’re scattered before opening your laptop: light a stick of cinnamon incense or a drop of cinnamon oil on a warmer, close your eyes, and name one client or task you want to attract energy toward. Open your eyes, open your inbox, and act on it first. That’s the entire ritual, and it’s the one most online sellers actually use daily.

Choosing and Substituting Your Materials
Every ingredient in these workings earns its place symbolically, and most have a practical reason too.
- Honey sweetens outcomes and smooths client relationships, but ritual honey isn’t for eating once it’s touched a working. Buy raw, local honey when you can. It’s a small ethical choice that also happens to smell better burning near a candle.
- Cinnamon is associated with quick money and fast results. Ground cinnamon works fine and is easy to source anywhere.
- Basil draws growth and steady prosperity. Fresh or dried both work; dried lasts longer in a sealed jar.
- Bay leaf carries written intentions. Any food-grade bay leaf from a grocery spice aisle is authentic enough.
- High John the Conqueror oil is the classic dressing oil for candles tied to success and overcoming obstacles.
- Citrine and pyrite bring solar, wealth-drawing energy. Small tumbled chips are affordable and widely available; a practical crystal reference for manifestation work covers sourcing and care in more depth.
- Coins substitute easily. Any currency works as long as it’s clean and intentional.
If an ingredient is unavailable, substitute within the same category rather than skipping the layer entirely. No basil? Rosemary carries a similar growth association. No High John oil? A cinnamon or clove-based oil keeps the same “quickening” intent.
My favourite Business Oil: Sassafras
No, we don’t make it here at Black Witch Coven, but I’ll leave a link for Amazon. This is an excellent folk magic remedy for business spells many people don’t consider.
In hoodoo it is classed with money that stays and compounds through trade like customers coming back, cash that does not burn a hole, decisions that do not wreck the till. Fast Money and cinnamon heat a windfall. Sassafras is the plant for a counter that keeps ringing. I know people don’t normally talk about this, but it is such a winner in our Book of Shadows. We’ve kept it a secret for a long time, but hey, here’s to the spirit of sharing!
That job comes from how people actually used the root.
- A pinch in the wallet so the root touches the bills: money is supposed to last and be managed, not just arrive.
- Blended with Irish moss and alfalfa and dressed under a shop carpet once a week: repeat customers, clearer business judgment, cash drawn into the room.
Those two uses are the whole argument. One is hold. One is draw through the door.
The oil is just those two jobs in a form you can put on a candle, a register, a card, and a doorframe.
Cunningham later tagged it Jupiter and Fire — expansion, heat, increase — which matches the folk use even if the older workers never said “Jupiter.”
What the oil does that chips in a bag cannot
Root chips in a wallet still work. Oil lets you put the same current on everything the business touches:
- Green or gold candles, dressed base to wick eg drawing trade in, not banishing anything
- The cash register, card reader, and the first and last bill in the drawer
- Business cards, invoices, contracts, and the shop license
- Doorframe and threshold, working inward
- A weekly floor dressing: a few drops in the mop water, back of the shop toward the front door, so traffic walks the scent in
- Hands before you open, before you pitch, before you count
- A money mojo or lodestone, fed once a week
Why it fits business better than generic “money oil”
Most money formulas either heat (cinnamon, ginger, Fast Luck) or magnetize (lodestone, magnetic sand, attraction blends). Sassafras sits between them. It has enough fire to move cash, but the traditional claim is control and duration so the money you already have does not evaporate, and the money that comes is tied to trade, not a found envelope.
That is why it is the better-business herb in a Crown of Success–style hand: sassafras, five-finger grass, cinnamon, lodestone.
- Five-finger grass covers the work your hands do.
- Cinnamon speeds the ticket.
- The lodestone pulls.
- Sassafras tells the money to behave like inventory instead of smoke.
Use it when the problem is:
- Slow days and no return traffic
- Money in / money straight out
- A stall you cannot think through
- A new shop, stall, site, or service that needs a first season of paying strangers
- You want the business blessed, not a one-off payday
Do not use it as a substitute for Fast Money when the rent is due Friday. Different bottle, different job.
How to work it
Keep it simple and repeat it. Business magic that works is usually weekly, not theatrical.
- Dress a green candle base-to-wick. Carve the shop name or “this till.” Petition under it: what you sell, what you need this week. Thursday if you work Jupiter; any opening morning if the week will not wait.
- Anoint the four corners and center of a bill or a business card, fold toward you, park it in the register or under the lodestone.
- Door and floor once a week. Same night you do the books is better than a full moon you will forget.
- Pair it. Irish moss and alfalfa if you have the herbs. Cinnamon if the shop is dead and needs heat. Crown of Success or Millionaire Oil if you already sell those and want the sassafras note inside a bigger formula. A lodestone on the till, fed with a drop and a pinch of magnetic sand.
Let’s Go A Little Further
Here at Black Witch Coven, we are really big into sigils. the logic behind a sigil is too deep to explain in this article, but we have information about it all over the website if you’d like to dig deeper.
But if you’re not ready to create your own chaos-style sigil, then there are already fantastic, business-useful seals that have been around for hundreds of years. That’s what I’ll go into here just a little bit to get you inspired.
and if you’re wondering what to do with these types of things, you’re either going to engrave them into the wax, draw them, or print them out and add them into various spells and rituals to help attract the energy of that sigil into your working. That’s why you’re using it…..
For business, the useful seals are almost all Jupiter (wealth, honor, expansion, patrons) and Mercury (trade, contracts, talk, merchandise). The Sun is the third wheel: visibility, gold, favor from people who can say yes.
FYI: Saturn is the wrong planet unless you are collecting a debt or closing a deal that needs teeth.
Greater Key of Solomon — start here
Work these on Thursday, hour of Jupiter, waxing moon, blue or tin / parchment. Dress with frankincense, sassafras, or a money oil. Jupiter’s metal is tin; silver is specified for one of them.
Jupiter (the business set)

~To be used to invoke the spirits of Jupiter.
~A special use if that of calling upon the Angels of the pentacle.
~Summoning the angel Parasiel in order to learn the secrets of possessing places or items containing treasure.
First Pentacle of Jupiter
Invokes the Jovian spirits written around it. Parasiel is named Lord and Master of Treasures and is said to teach how to become possessor of the places where they are. This is the “open the account / find where the money lives” seal … inventory, a location, a contract, a room that should be producing. Angels on it: Netoniel, Devachiah, Tzedeqiah, Parasiel.

~To be used for the acquisition of material riches and of honors and general success.
~To achieve peace of mind.
~To be used to discover treasures and to repel any guardian spirits of such.
Second Pentacle of Jupiter — the default business seal
Mathers: glory, honours, dignities, riches, and all kinds of good, together with great tranquillity of mind; also to discover treasures and chase away the spirits who preside over them.
Verse is Psalm 112:3 — Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endureth for ever.
This is reputation plus money plus a calm till.
Use it for a shop that needs to look established, a raise, a client list, a brand that has to be taken seriously.
If you only keep one Jupiter pentacle under the register, this is it.

~To be used in the acquisition of material wealth, as well as honors in life.
Fourth Pentacle of Jupiter
Serves to acquire riches and honour, and to possess much wealth. Angel Bariel. Traditional instruction: engrave on silver in the day and hour of Jupiter while Jupiter is in Cancer.
This is the “pile it up” seal — holdings, savings, the business that should get fatter, not just busier.
Pair with sassafras if the problem is money that will not stay.

~To be used for general protection from all manners of spirits (summoned or otherwise).
Third Pentacle of Jupiter
Not a money-draw. It makes spirits obey when shown the pentacle, and is used as a shield while you work the others. Use it when the growth is attracting envy, a competitor, or leftover mess. Verse: Psalm 125:1.
My TIP – Skip the Fifth (visions / Jacob’s ladder), Sixth (protection in looking upon the Divine), and Seventh (poverty-against-wealth / ruin of the proud) unless the job is specifically visionary or you are tearing someone else’s fortune down. Those are not shop seals.
Mercury (the trade set)
The Key says the days and hours of Mercury are for eloquence, intelligence, promptitude in business, writings, and merchandise. That is invoices, pitches, ads, shipping, and the conversation that closes.
Wednesday, hour of Mercury.
Mixed colors; metal is traditionally quicksilver, so parchment or a mixed-metal lamen is what people actually make.
Second Pentacle of Mercury — operations of Mercury’s nature: skill, commerce, the quick mind.
Fourth Pentacle of Mercury — knowledge of hidden things, useful when you need to see the real numbers or the lie in a deal.
Fifth Pentacle of Mercury — opens locks and commands spirits; used when a door, a permit, or a gatekeeper will not move.
Mercury pentacles do not replace Jupiter. Jupiter is the account. Mercury is the transaction.
Sun (favor and gold)
Sunday, hour of the Sun. Gold or yellow parchment.
First Pentacle of the Sun — to acquire the countenance of kings and to command spirits. In shop language: the person who can approve the contract, the landlord, the platform, the buyer who thinks they are doing you a favor.
Third Pentacle of the Sun — to compel spirits to appear and to bring ruin to enemies of the work if you are in a fight over territory.
Fifth Pentacle of the Sun — associated with gold and the spirits of the Sun; use when the job is literal gold, high-ticket, or solar “I am the one they pay.”
The Key itself says the hours of the Sun are good for temporal wealth, hope, gain, fortune, and the favour of princes. That last clause is why Sun seals sit next to Jupiter in business work.
Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses — the folk seals
These books are a German-American folk grimoire, not a clean Solomonic text. The Hebrew is often nonsense.
Hoodoo and botanica shops still sold the printed seals as talismans, which is why they show up in American money work.
Treat them as paper seals you dress and carry, not as accurate Kabbalah.
Useful tables for business-adjacent jobs:
| Seal / Table | Traditional claim | Shop use |
|---|---|---|
| Second Seal (Sixth Book) — “highest Seal of Fortune” | Great fortune and blessing if carried | General luck over a stall or person |
| Sixth Table of Jupiter | Overcome suits, disputes, and play; spirits ready to assist | Contracts, disputes with vendors, competitive bidding |
| Eighth Table of the Sun | Places of honor, wealth, gold and treasure | Promotion, prestige clients, being seen as the expensive option |
| Tenth Table of Mercury | Wealth in chemistry; treasures of the mine | Skilled trade, making, formula, anything you produce |
| Eleventh Table | Luck and fortune; treasures of the sea | Incoming money, shipping, distant buyers |
| Fourth Table of the Earth | Treasures of the earth if laid in the earth | Inventory, land, a physical shop, burying under the threshold |
| Third Table of Water | Fortune by water; treasures of the deep | Import, travel, money that arrives from elsewhere |
| Seventh Seal (laid on “treasure earth” / a mine) | Reveals precious contents | Finding where the profit actually is |
The Breastplate of Moses and Breastplate of Aaron in the same book are general authority / “God spoke through this” seals, not money seals. People wear them for covering.
The Twelfth Table of the Schemhamphorash is a master key used with another table …. it does not draw cash by itself.
Anna Riva–style pamphlets expanded these into “use with money oil / attraction oil.”

Other seals people actually use for business
Planetary Seal of Jupiter (Agrippa / standard planetary square). Not a pentacle. The square of 4, or the simple glyph of Jupiter on Thursday. Good when you do not want a full pentacle on the altar.

Seal of Bune (Goetia 26). Wealth, eloquence, the dead moving things into place.

Seal of Clauneck. Not Solomonic. Modern demonolatry’s specialist for money that moves. Same logic: oil + seal + Thursday or a payday.

First / Second Pentacle of Venus only if the business is charm, beauty, hospitality, or being liked. Wrong for a hardware stall. Right for a parlor, a face, a room people should want to stay in.
TIP – Do not grab random “Seal of Solomon” hexagrams off Etsy. The hexagram-in-a-circle is a general Solomonic badge. It is not a money pentacle unless the specific Jupiter or Mercury figure is inside it.
How to put this on a working (short)
- Pick one pentacle for the job. Second Jupiter for the shop’s name and standing. Fourth Jupiter if the money will not accumulate. First Jupiter if you cannot find where the profit is. Mercury if the problem is talk, paper, or shipping. Sun if a specific person has to favor you.
- Draw it yourself on unused paper in the planetary hour, or use a printed seal you then consecrate. Blue ink for Jupiter, gold or yellow for the Sun, mixed or orange for Mercury.
- Dress the four corners and center with the matching oil — sassafras or a money oil for Jupiter business; frankincense to consecrate; Crown of Success if the job is status.
- Place it: under the register, behind the license, in the wallet with the root, under a green or blue candle. Fold toward you.
- Third Pentacle of Jupiter next to it if the growth is being picked at.
- Do the physical work. A pentacle under a dead shop is a drawing on paper.
Uncross first if the till went quiet after a fight, a gift, or a person. Jupiter on a crossed counter just oils the jinx.
How Long This Takes, and How to Know It’s Working
Set your expectations before you light anything. Small shifts, a warmer client interaction, a returned call, tend to show up in four to six weeks of consistent tending. Compounding changes, a steadier client pipeline or a noticeable revenue bump, usually take three to six months of weekly maintenance paired with real outreach.
Track it simply. Pick three business metrics that matter to you: new inquiries, closed sales, or repeat client bookings. Log one line a week next to your ritual maintenance notes, then review the month as a whole rather than judging any single week.
If a working seems to be failing, run through this checklist before assuming the ritual itself is broken:
- Check your action alignment. A working built around client attraction won’t do much if you haven’t posted, pitched, or followed up in three weeks. Desire, intention, action, and outcome only connect when the action actually matches the intent.
- Check your doubt. Reworking the same jar every few days out of anxiety tends to muddy the intention rather than strengthen it. Trust the weekly rhythm.
- Check for safety mistakes. A candle that burned unevenly or a jar that got knocked over isn’t a sign of failure, it’s a sign to clean up, relight, and continue the maintenance schedule.
- Rewrite if the goal has changed. Businesses pivot. If your intention no longer matches what you’re actually working toward, rewrite the bay leaf and restart the tending clock.
A Practitioner’s Take on Ritual and Discipline
Treat ritual as a discipline tool first, magic second.
The candle and the jar matter less than the fact that you sat down, named a goal clearly, and committed to tending it on a schedule. That structure is what actually changes outcomes.
Review your intention monthly against what your business is really doing, not just what you hope it’s doing.
This week, pick one ritual from this piece and pair it with one concrete task, an email, a call, a post, and do both before the day ends.
FAQ
What Business Has a 90% Success Rate?
No single business type carries a verified 90% success rate; that figure gets repeated online without a credible source behind it. What actually correlates with higher success rates is consistent follow-up, clear offers, and disciplined habits, the same things ritual work is designed to reinforce.
Which Mantra Is Powerful for Business Success?
There’s no single “correct” mantra. A short, specific affirmation spoken during your ritual, naming the exact outcome you want rather than a vague wish, tends to work better than any borrowed phrase.
What Are the Five Keys of Business Success?
Definitions vary across sources, but the ones that show up consistently are clear goals, consistent follow-up, honest offers, financial tracking, and adaptability. Ritual work supports the first two directly by giving you a repeatable structure for setting and revisiting intentions.
What Spiritual Rituals Can Help With Business Success?
Jar spells for ongoing growth, candle workings for specific launches or sales pushes, and short daily focus rituals using cinnamon or citrine all show up consistently in practitioner guidance. Each one works best paired with real outreach, not in place of it.
What sigils can I use, because we discussed so many?
Practical shortlist
- Everyday shop / brand / income: Second Pentacle of Jupiter
- Money that should stack: Fourth Pentacle of Jupiter + sassafras
- “Where is the money in this?”: First Pentacle of Jupiter (Parasiel)
- Contracts, ads, shipping, skill: Mercury, Wednesday
- One person who can say yes: First Pentacle of the Sun
- Folk paper in the wallet: Moses Second Seal of Fortune or Eighth Table of the Sun
