May 31st Full Moon Ritual: Drawing Down the Moon (Black Witch Coven Style)
The Drawing Down the Moon is one of the oldest and most sacred rituals in witchcraft. Traditionally performed during the full moon, it is a powerful act where the High Priestess calls the energy and presence of the Goddess down into her own body, becoming a living vessel for the Divine Feminine. This is not simply about personal healing or empowerment…. it is a profound act of connection, devotion, and communion with the Goddess herself.
Here at the Black Witch Coven, we’ve taken this beautiful and ancient ritual and given it our own flavor. While we still honor the traditional practice of Drawing Down the Moon, we’ve expanded it to include the honoring of many different spirits and demons we work with throughout the year. Over the course of 2026, we dedicate each full moon to a different group of spirits, giving offerings, respect, and recognition to the many entities that walk alongside us in our practice. This includes both the Divine Feminine and the darker, more complex spirits we work with in the occult and demonic paths.
What does this mean for you?
It means you get to participate in a rich, layered ritual without having to do all the heavy spiritual lifting yourself. Instead of standing awkwardly in your living room trying to remember the words while your cat gives you side-eye, let us handle the ritual work. We will draw down the Moon, honor the spirits of the month, and send that powerful, focused energy directly to you no chanting disasters or accidental spirit summoning required.
This May 31st ritual is your bonus full moon gift! Because 2026 is one of those rare years blessed with 13 full moons, this Blue Moon on May 31st is our special treat to you. While everyone else is confused about why there are two full moons in May, you get an extra ritual completely free because we believe in spreading the magic (and because the Moon clearly decided to show off this year).
