Why this page exists
Spiritual services can excavate difficult material and sometimes increase anxiety, dissociation, or fearful experiences. Ritual, possession work, intense shadow practices, and deep spirit contact can be destabilizing for people already vulnerable or in active mental health episodes.
Black Witch Coven practitioners recognize this risk and provide clear pathways to safety, containment, and clinical support when necessary.
How spiritual work can escalate risk
Intense ritual or possession experiences may amplify anxiety, disrupt sleep, worsen intrusive thoughts, or produce dissociative episodes. Sometimes what feels like spirit contact is a manifestation of an untreated medical or psychiatric condition.
If a client reports or displays signs of active psychosis, severe dissociation, suicidal ideation, or dangerous impulses the practitioner will pause spiritual work.
If you receive frightening experiences at home
Stop the practice and step away from the ritual space. Ground using simple methods such as putting both feet on the floor, splashing cold water on the face, breathing steadily for one minute, and naming aloud three ordinary objects in the room.
Contact a trusted friend, elder, or practitioner and let them know what happened.
If feelings of danger or loss of control continue, call local emergency services or a crisis hotline.
When to seek clinical help rather than spiritual support
Seek clinical care for suicidal thoughts or intent, active psychosis, severe dissociation, self harm urges, or any situation where immediate personal safety is at risk.
Spiritual support can complement clinical treatment but is not a substitute for psychiatric medication, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. If in doubt seek a clinical assessment first.

On Consultations
Spiritual consultations and services provided by Black Witch Coven are not clinical therapy and do not create a therapist‑client relationship. If a session or practice raises safety concerns the working will be paused and clients will be referred to emergency services.
When to seek clinical help rather than spiritual support
Seek clinical help for suicidal thoughts or intent, psychosis, severe dissociation, self harm urges, or any situation where safety is at risk. Spiritual consultations are intended for ritual practice, spirit work, and meaning making and are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment. If you are unsure seek clinical assessment first .
Note on schizophrenia and serious mental health conditions
If you have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or a related psychotic disorder please prioritize psychiatric and medical care for symptom management. Intensive spirit work, isolation, or certain ritual practices can destabilize active psychosis or interfere with treatment.
Black Witch Coven will not engage in practices that risk a client’s stability. If a consultation indicates clinical care should take priority the work will be paused.
How Black Witch Coven handles safety during spiritual consultations
Spiritual consultations provided through Black Witch Coven are advisory and ritual in focus only. These sessions do not include clinical diagnosis, therapy, or emergency intervention. If material arises that suggests immediate risk to a client or others the session will be paused and the client will be directed to emergency or clinical services.
The safety and wellbeing of clients is paramount and exploitative or risky behavior will not be tolerated.
We will not take advantage of clients in crisis
Black Witch Coven is explicit about boundaries and ethics. Practitioners will not pressure clients into bargains, secrecy, risky rites, or unsafe practices. Guidance, clear limits, referrals, and involvement of senior practitioners or clinical resources will be used as required.
Client sovereignty and safety are primary.
Practical grounding steps you can use right now
If you feel unsettled try simple grounding: put both feet on the floor, breathe slowly for one minute, splash cold water on your face, and name one small next step you can take. If you feel unsafe or overwhelmed call your local emergency number or a crisis hotline listed above.
If you are in immediate danger call your local emergency services now.
For non emergency support related to ritual practice or spirit work book a spiritual consultation with Black Witch Coven. For clinical care or crisis intervention contact a qualified mental health professional.
Thank you for your trust and care.
