Expectations Versus Reality in Love Magick

love attraction spell

Love magic sits at the heart of black magick and occult practice, ancient, potent, and unapologetically directing its aim to bend hearts, desires, and circumstances toward the practitioner’s will. From binding spells that chain lovers together to domination workings that compel obedience, from curse-like separation rituals that sever rivals to invocation of infernal or ancestral forces that force open closed doors, the arsenal is vast and ruthless when wielded without hesitation.

Yet the occult path demands unflinching honesty about what is truly possible. Many seekers arrive expecting instantaneous domination: pay the price, perform the rite, and watch the target surrender completely, erasing distance, third parties, and free will in a single stroke.

That is fantasy.

Reality in black magic is far more shadowed, layered, and demanding of patience, precision, and acceptance of human resistance.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how we talk about love magic, and I wanted to sit down and share some straight thoughts with you. You already know me, you know how I work, and you come here because you trust the no-nonsense way I explain things. So let us talk openly about what love magic actually does in the hardest cases, the ones where everything looks impossible, and why the results are never as simple as we hope when we first start.

A Difficult Situation

I’ve been working closely with a VIP Love Magick client (in Black Witch Coven, VIP means a Very Important Priority/Package where we work on a situation over time, typically one to three months). The situation was difficult because not only was the desired target with somebody else, but it had been a considerable time since she and the target had connected, and she had no information about the target’s location and no method of connecting with them.

I should add here for those people who are new to Black Witch Coven and/or our services, we do not guarantee magic will work; however, through the proper process of investigation through divination and psychic connection we look at what is possible. We ask: what are the blockages, and will our magic have a chance at overcoming some of these blockages? We become curious and respectful and then go to work at the challenges without expectation.

SIDE NOTE – We don’t promise the spiritual world will deliver just because you pay a fee. Money means nothing to the spiritual world. It means something to us in the flesh, but don’t confuse the money you pay to a spiritual spellcaster such as ourselves with the delivery of a service like you would a package from Amazon. We have no fantasy of how fantastic and powerful we are just because we say so. We are all humans connecting to the spiritual world and asking for their magical assistance. There can never be a guarantee when it comes to magic. Period.

Back to the story …..The client came to me ready to dive in fully, open to the real journey instead of expecting a quick fix. We ran the full three-month VIP program, layering the work carefully to shift the energies, and at the end I had to tell her something many people don’t want to hear: the magic has gone as far as it can on the spiritual side right now. The currents are set, the openings are created, but the next move has to come from you in the physical world. You need to find a way to make the encounter happen.

A common pushback I get from clients (and I completely understand where it comes from), is the resistance to taking that first real-world step after the magic has done its part. When I tell someone the spiritual work is complete, the currents are flowing, and now it’s time for them to reach out, create the encounter, or make the move, a lot of people hesitate or outright push back. They say things like, “But it feels too awkward,” or “We had such a bad breakup with all that arguing, reaching out first would make me look desperate,” or “What if he rejects me? I can’t handle losing face like that.” The anxiety about rejection is huge, especially after a messy split where pride got wounded, words were sharp, and the silence has stretched on for months. They want the magic to handle the hard part: to make him text first, show up at their door, or send some undeniable sign so they don’t have to risk vulnerability or ego.

I get it…nobody wants to feel exposed or foolish. But here’s the deeper occult truth that shows up again and again in this work: sometimes the spiritual forces deliberately place the next step in your hands as a condition of the manifestation. It’s not punishment, and it’s not because the magic failed. It’s a test of alignment, a requirement for the energy to fully ground. The spirits can open every door in the unseen world..soften his heart, plant the longing, align the timing etc, but they often won’t force the physical bridge if you’re not willing to cross it.

That final act of courage, even when it’s uncomfortable or scary, is what seals the current and allows the opportunity to fully materialize. If you refuse because of pride, fear of rejection, or not wanting to “lose face,” the window can close again, not because the forces withdrew, but because the human side didn’t meet the spiritual momentum halfway. In those moments, the work is asking you to overcome something inside yourself, usually the very ego wound or fear that contributed to the original separation. When clients push through that resistance and take the step anyway (even if it’s messy or awkward), that’s when the real breakthroughs happen. The magic has already done the impossible; now it’s inviting you to prove you’re ready to receive it.

She understood completely. She didn’t push back or demand more spells to force it. She accepted that nothing is ever 100% guaranteed in this work, that magic can engineer extraordinary possibilities but can’t override every human choice or guarantee a fairy-tale ending. Instead, she took the guidance to heart and committed to creating the scenario herself. And she did. And important to take note of, this is after three and a half months from when she first began the magic.

The result so far has been real success in reconnecting….they crossed paths, old feelings surfaced strongly, they talked, kissed, exchanged numbers, and started seeing each other again. It’s not “set in stone” yet as a forever relationship, and it may never be, but the love magic did precisely what it was designed to do: it created a connection and an opportunity that had zero chance of happening otherwise. And please understand I can’t give you all the exact information and personal details about what went on, but let’s just say she’s pretty happy what happened after the reconnection!

There is still work to do, as I mentioned earlier, and that is precisely where the reality of magic meets the expectation so many people carry. Once the spiritual forces have opened the path and placed an opportunity right in front of you, gratitude becomes the most powerful stance you can take.

Be thankful for what spirit has already overcome, the barriers that were moved, the synchronicities that aligned, the emotional softening that happened when it should have been impossible. Look at what is now available to you: a real chance at reconnection, a moment of warmth, a door that was sealed shut but is now cracked open.

Would this have happened without the magic?

Some people will ask that question, and I am not here to debate or prove it one way or the other. What I will say is this: spirit is not a delivery service that hands you everything wrapped with a cherry on top, perfectly tied and complete. The occult currents we work with are immense and precise, but they operate in partnership with your own will and effort. They give you the breakthrough that defies ordinary odds, yet they expect you to honor it by continuing the momentum through ongoing rituals to strengthen the bond, through personal growth to handle what arises, and through consistent action to nurture what has been given.

When clients recognize this and shift from “why isn’t it all done?” to “thank you for getting me this far, now let’s build on it,” that’s when the true depth of the work unfolds.

Gratitude keeps the energy flowing upward instead of stalling in frustration or entitlement. It aligns you with the forces that helped you get here, making the next layers of influence even stronger. So yes, celebrate the victory of what spirit has already delivered, and then roll up your sleeves for the real maintenance and expansion that keeps the connection alive and growing.

So what will happen next for this client?

In all honesty, I’ll probably guide her toward coming on board with a monthly-style service where we chip away at the various challenges month by month. This approach is often the smartest and most affordable way to maintain momentum right now with consistent, targeted rituals and adjustments without jumping straight into another full VIP container (unless her budget allows and she’s eager to go deeper again, which is always her call). Monthly work lets us stay responsive: we keep the energetic flow strong, address any new obstacles that pop up, and build on the reconnection that’s already happened.

From here, the focus shifts to more divination to get clearer insight. We’ll look closely at what’s really in the way such as….Is there still a mental block or emotional hesitation on his side? Is the other woman lingering in some capacity, or has she faded? Are there external influences, family opinions, or old patterns resurfacing that need to be handled? There are so many layers to examine now that proximity is real and communication has restarted.

We won’t be rushing into something like a marriage spell or a “happily ever after” binding at this stage. Honestly, I hope she isn’t even thinking that far ahead yet. Does she truly know if she wants him forever? Has she had enough time to see how he shows up now that the initial rush has passed? Jumping to permanent commitment workings too soon can lock in something that still needs testing and evolution. The wise path is to nurture and strengthen what’s emerging first, deepening the lust, passion, and obsession so he stays focused on her, helping him question any lingering doubts about his current situation, and creating space for honest conversations about what they both want moving forward.

This is the grounded reality of ongoing love magic: the breakthrough is a gift, but sustaining and evolving it requires patience, adaptability, and continued effort.

What does black magick do?

This outcome underscores the core occult reality: black magic creates extraordinary openings where none existed, especially in no-contact scenarios that appear hopeless. It can compel strong pulls, weaken rival influences, and orchestrate events that feel fated or coerced. Yet it grants a window, not a permanent lock.

The relationship’s continuation hinges on what both parties do next…the HUMAN ELEMENT…..how they navigate resurfaced issues, whether desire sustains beyond the initial rush, and if personal shadows sabotage the bond. Magic can dominate in bursts; sustaining dominance requires ongoing work, renewed rites, and the client’s unrelenting focus.

True practitioners of black magic and occultism embrace this complexity without apology. They reject the illusion of one-and-done spells for impossible situations. They commit to layered sorcery, strategic timing, and the hard truth that human will can resist even powerful forces. They understand that the greatest power lies in combining unrelenting occult pressure with decisive mundane action.

I hope this breakdown of the situation and the client’s experience sheds some light on why your own love rituals might feel like they’re stalling, moving slowly, or not delivering the full picture you envisioned.

If you’re new to this path or still building confidence in your practice, please don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s easy to fall into self-judgment when things don’t unfold dramatically or instantly thinking your intent wasn’t strong enough, your timing was off, or your workings just aren’t “powerful” enough. That kind of inner criticism can actually block the flow more than any external obstacle. ( That is why Black Witch Coven has nearly two decades of tips and advice all over this website for you to be able to start your magical journey on your own).

Magic, especially in the realm of love and complicated human dynamics, rarely works like a single lightning strike. It thrives on consistency over time, repetition, and layering. One spell might shift an energy slightly; a second might clear a block; a third might amplify desire or soften resistance. The real momentum builds when you keep showing up…month after month if needed….adjusting, divining, reinforcing, and responding to what spirit reveals along the way. A single ritual can plant a seed, but it’s the sustained tending that turns it into growth. Most breakthroughs I’ve witnessed didn’t come from one perfect working; they came from persistence, patience, and the willingness to keep refining the current until the alignment was undeniable.

So if you’re feeling frustrated right now, take a breath and give yourself grace. You’re not failing…you’re in process. The fact that you’re even engaging with this work means you’re already farther along than most. Keep layering, keep listening to what the cards or spirits show you, keep taking those small, brave steps in the physical world when the opening appears. The path isn’t always fast, but when it’s walked with steady commitment and honest self-compassion, it leads to places that quick fixes never could.

I’m right here with you through every layer and every lesson. If this post stirred something and you want to talk about your own workings or what’s next, you know where to reach me.
