Musisin, Second of the Inferior Demons

Musisin is one of the inferior demons mentioned within the Grimorium Verum. The demon is also referred to as Musofin, Muzzi, or Reschin although these names are uncommon within the context of practice. Musisin is largely ignored by mainstream grimories although the Dictionnaire Infernal makes mention of him.Like the other demons in this hierarchy, it is thought that Musisin was first mentioned by Alibek the Egyptian circa 1517 during the publication of the Grimorium Verum.

Musisin has power over people in political positions such as lords and he can sway their thinking at the behest of the medium. This demon is also able to teach about everything that goes on in the Republics while being knowledgeable of the affairs of the allies. Despite his obvious potency and lofty ranking, very little is known pertaining to this demon as he is not hugely popular within demonology circles. It is plausible that his office does not hold great promise for enrichment per se.

Since, very little is known regarding this demon it is presently unknown whether he is nocturnal, diurnal, or both. He is to be accorded utmost respect during rituals to increase the likelihood for a desirable outcome while minimizing the chance of punitive malevolence. It is also noteworthy that there are no mentions of whether the demon himself is malevolent or otherwise and it is thus necessary that only experienced conjurors attempt his invocation.

The ritual for summoning this demon is akin to that used in the evocation of the other inferior demons. It involves the use of the instruments of the art – these must first be consecrated before use within any spiritual practices. It is a demanding ritual that requires the medium to avoid sinning or having any sexual acts for three days before eventually conducting the last steps before the invocation of Musisin.

History

It is plausible that the demon was previously a popular pagan god whose name was Latinized with the advent of Christianity and condemned as a resident of hell. This is because the Grimorium Verum does not make a case for his origins and there are no discernible links to early Graeco-Roman myths or ancient Middle-Eastern mythology. The demon’s origins within Judeo-Christian accounts are also presently unknown. The oldest accounts of this demon can be found within the grimories of the Secrets of Solomon that was published circa 1600.
