Divination and Summoning of Demons with Tarot Cards

If you are struggling to understand ceremonial magic, and the summoning of daemonic forces with Solomonic Rituals, there may be a solution that is both affordable and easy to understand. Author Travis McHenry, has created a deck of tarot cards/oracle cards, which can be used for both divination and or summoning. The cards bear the images and sigils of the 72 demons that great Solomon summoned, as well as their six rulers, the grand princes of hell, totaling 78 infernal spirits from the “darkest realms”.

The occult tarot primarily relies on Solomonic magic traditions, sigils and incantations. Solomon used these magical symbols to restrain and control the Demons. In the Solomonic tradition, each Demon is ruled by a specific and opposing angel. The names of these angels are also written on the occult tarot card in Hebrew, specifically under the Demons name. It is suggested, the phrase “as above, so below”, is a reference to an angel above, and a Demon below.

The author of the Occult Tarot deck, suggests that your most potent weapon against a Demon is knowing the Demons name. It is suggested if you know the Demons name, then you know something that is true, and therefore the Demon will respect you and obey your command. The author also made a firm warning to users of this specific deck.

“…These cards have been carefully constructed to Harness and contain the Demon energy, so if you find that using them is too overwhelming, Or you wish to banish them from your life it is strongly suggested you leave the deck intact and burn it completely. Ripping or damaging one or all of the cards risks breaking the protective seals and releasing the Demons into the world unchecked.”

If you have been working with the Goetic Demons for some time, or have created your own tarot deck with the Goetic Demons, you will notice that some of the cards will not correspond with popular occult authors versions. It is important to understand that over the years, many authors have adapted and modified all aspects of magic, including the Demons descriptions, sigils, ENNs, and powers, according to their own Encounters with the daemonic, and I personally believe, that every genuine addition to the volume of knowledge we are collecting is valid. As you become more experienced in occultism, you will also adapt and edit information about the Demons.  Therefore I suggest that you should work with this deck as is, and enjoy the journey until you can create your own tarot deck of corresponding daemonic entities.

Using the Occult Tarot

As an Oracle deck…..

In the last BWC Newsletter, I shared with the readers that I was going to start a series of posting pictures from this deck on Instagram (and in our BWC Blog), and giving my thoughts and feelings about each of the demons.

Over the next few months, I will draw a card from the deck and review the spiritual message from one of our beloved Demons. However, I will not return the card to the deck at the end of the day, as I would do if using the deck as an Oracle deck, as I want to explore each of the Demons for you, our reader.

You could also choose a card every day or once a week, and reflect on the message of the card. Take some time to review what power this specific Demon brings to humankind, and how you can learn and benefit from the advice. Find the meaning that is relevant to you and your situation.

To Summon the Demon…

The occult tarot deck has an accompanying book, where the author provides his demon summoning ritual. This ritual uses some traditional tools such as candles, incense, and an infernal circle, alongside the demon tarot cards. He also provides advice on how to use the traditional Celtic cross tarot spread with these daemonic cards to question the Demons.

Personally, I love his advice to provide the Demon an offering before beginning such a ritual, so to entice the Demon to provide the answers to your questions. Remember that an offering should always be something that is both valuable to both yourself and desirable to the Demon. Generally, offerings should include food, flowers, incense, alcohol, blood, or candles. One should always take the time to research what a specific Demon prefers, and begin the offering at this point. Once you build a better relationship with that Demon, the Demon will share with you alternatives and additional preferences.
