Bone Mala Beads are symbols of impermanence and they are sacred to many. Traditionally, Mala beads were made from people who donated their bodies to temples for the benefit of the monks and their work. Our supplier purchases these products from a reliable source to ensure that they are authentic.
What are Mala Beads?
A Mala is a string of beads used to count mantras (Sanskrit prayers) in sets of 108 repetitions as a form of meditation. Human Bone Malas are rare and should be treated with the greatest of respect.
How to use these beads in your spiritual practices
If you’ve never used mala beads it’s quite simple. You have a choice of sitting, standing or even walking. You don’t always have to be sitting with your eyes closed.
- If you’re using these beads to connect with our ancient gods, also known as Demons, it is well known that they are more responsive to the meditations and to the chanting of their ENN when you’re using human bone malas. With each bead, you would chat the Demons ENN, either allowed or silently well focused on the connection with the demon. When you feel you have the connection you can communicate your desires – be clear on what your intention is, and use your intuition over your intellect.
- The traditional method for using the mala beads is while you are chanting or during a meditation. The chant is repeated silently or aloud and can be repeated as slowly or as quickly as necessary to keep one’s attention focused.
Remember that these beads will store the energy and the mantras or ENNS. After time, the energy of these beads can be used to benefit yourself during times when you’re not meditating. You may even wish to wear the beads with the Guru bead facing down – always connecting you with the energy of your Demon.
Holding the beads:
- Hold your mala in your right hand (in India the left hand is considered impure) and use your thumb and middle finger to “count” each mantra by touching the bead during the chant.
- On each recitation lightly pull the bead towards you with your fingers as you complete the mantra to move to the next bead, until you end at the guru and have completed 108 repetitions.
- The large bead should not be counted or touched by the thumb. This is sometimes called the Guru bead. The guru is used as the marker for the starting and ending point of the recitation.
Frequency of use
For either style of use, it is recommended to meditate at least once per day. Meditating for at least 10 minutes will have the most benefits. This is a skill that requires practice and while it is not difficult it does require consistent effort to achieve the results.
We recommend you dedicate yourself to a 10 minute meditation for 40 continuous days to empower and charge your new Mala beads
