Minoson, Twelfth of the Inferior Demons

Minoson is another of the inferior demons mentioned within the Grimorium Verum outside of the eighteen servitors of Duke Syrach. The major grimories which make mention of this demon are the Dictionnaire Infernal and the Grimorium Verum. Within the Grimorium Verum, he is ranked twelfth within the hierarchy. There are otherwise no mentions of this demon within the mainstream circles of demonology thereby enshrouding him in mystery. The lack of detail regarding demons’ specific identities is a major and recurrent theme throughout the Grimorium Verum.

The Grimorium Verum states the following about this demon: “Minoson, is able to make anyone win at any game.” The office of this demon has to with gambling and bringing lack to the conjuror during games. His powers can thus be a powerful tool for enrichment if harnessed and leveraged properly. It is however noteworthy that his true nature is unknown due to the dearth of information regarding his historical background – this means that great care should be taken when invoking him.

It is noteworthy that being the twelfth mention within a hierarchy of fifteen creates the implication of lower ranking – the demon is still potent and the lack of specific information regarding him means that there can be no knowing his true motives. The demon could be malevolent, benevolent, or even indifferent towards human beings thereby posing a challenge for conjurors with modest levels of experience. In order to avoid ruination while gambling, any invocations of Minoson should thus be done by an experienced medium.

The ritual for summoning Minoson is the same one used in the summoning most of the other inferior demons within the Grimorium Verum. It is a relatively difficult ritual outlined in the Grimorium Verum specifically for this use. It asks the medium to avoid all forms of biblical sin nor have any sexual contact for a period of three days. After this, the last steps in the process of the invocation of the demon can be conducted by the medium. Despite its seeming complexity, it is the most basic ritual for invoking the inferior demons and quite practical.
