How do you use herbs in magic?
Don’t forget, most herbs you use for magical purposes, need to be burned to release their “powers” into your environment. Most commonly, a small pinch of the herb is burned on a charcoal disc. The charcoal disk should sit on a heat-proof surface (such as sand), in a heat-proof bowl.
Candle Magic – In candle magic you can use herbs to dress your candle, most commonly you will roll the candle in the herbs. For some candles you will dig a small hole in the base of the candle before placing specific herbs pertaining to the outcome of the candle. In figure candle hoodoo style spells, many people will dress the plate around the candle, to influence the outcome of the ritual.
Mojo – you could choose to put a pinch of the herb in a Mojo bag for a specific purpose.
Baths – put a large spoon full of herbs together in a tea/bath bag to prepare a spiritual bath, or just add the herb directly into the bath. Some people don’t like to pick the herb of their skin after the bath 🙂
Teas – this is where you need to do your research as not all herbs should be prepared for tea. Once you do your research, it is awesome to pick and choose specific herbs and add to a teabag for your own specific beautiful blend of tea.
Oils – making your own magical oil is not as difficult as what you may imagine. Plus, following the right correspondences, you can make a very powerful oil by yourself.
