Sidragosam, Sixth Servitor of Hael and Sergulath

Sidragosam, also referred to as Sidragosum, is the fifth of the eight servitors of Hael and Sergulath. Like the other demons within this hierarchy, he is associated with the demon Nebirous and serves under the government of Satanachia. Unlike the other demons within his hierarchy, this demon is mentioned within both the Grimorium Verum and the Dictionnaire Infernal. He is the first demon within this hierarchy to appear within multiple major grimories. However, not much else is known regarding this demon due to the lack of details regarding his historical background.

The Grimorium Verum states the following about this demon: “Sidragosam, causes any girl to dance in the nude.” The office of this demon caters to the desires of the flesh on the part of the conjuror with this demon being able to draw the affections of any girl. He cannot be used by women to obtain the affections of men however. It is noteworthy that he shares this ability with several other demons from varying orders and hierarchies. These may be easier to summon and more familiar to the world of demonology thereby posing less risk towards inexperienced mediums.

Despite appearing towards the lower end of the hierarchy, this demon still bears some potency seeing as he operates within the government of Satanachia. The lack of detailed information about Sidragosam means that it is impossible to discern his true nature. This further means that his motives, like everything else regarding him, is shrouded in mystery. He could be indifferent towards human beings, evil, or even benign. The lack of clarity here poses a great risk and it is preferable that only experienced conjurors attempt to summon him.

He can be called forth using the same ritual for the other demons within his hierarchy. This ritual is provided within the Third Book of the Grimorium Verum for the conjuror’s convenience. It requires the medium to avoid any form of biblical sin nor have sexual contact for three days. After this, the process of summoning the demon can be conducted by the medium. Despite its seeming complexity, it is the most basic ritual for invoking the inferior demons and quite practical. If done within the demon’s acceptable confines the likelihood of desirable outcomes is increased.

History

This demon was first mentioned within recorded history by the publication of the Grimorium Verum in the year 1817 – this would be followed by another mention in the Dictionnaire Infernal in the next year of 1818. There are no discernible correlations between this demon and ancient Middle-Eastern mythology or early Graeco-Roman stories. He was quite possibly an olden pagan god who was demonized with the advent of Christianity throughout Europe in the Middle Ages.
