The January Full Moon Event – 2026

Greetings  Full Moon Family,

 

Happy New Year! I hope the holiday season was exactly what you needed, whether that meant celebrating with a mega party or enjoying quiet moments of peace and reflection.

For me personally, I was blessed to head down to Australia, where I spent wonderful time with family, friends, and many members of our coven. Being surrounded by loved ones truly filled my spirit, and I feel rejuvenated and ready to dive into another exciting year of magical work.

This time of year is always bustling, especially with New Year’s Eve rituals followed closely by our preparations for the Full Moon on January 3. It’s a busy period for spells and rituals, and I appreciate your patience as we channel our energies together.

As 2026 gets off to an emotional start with the Cancer Full Moon illuminating our paths, it’s important to acknowledge that many of you may face challenges during this period. The cosmic energies can bring unfinished business to the forefront, urging us to confront feelings we’ve pushed aside. This can feel heavy and exhausting, particularly as Mars, the Capricorn sun, and Venus align with the Full Moon, creating tension and revealing how our emotional baggage can block intimacy and connection.

Please know that it’s entirely normal to experience these emotional waves. I am sharing this not to cast my life in a rose-colored light but to remind you that even during celebrations, we can struggle. Many loved ones are navigating their own challenges, and it’s crucial to create spaces where we can be vulnerable and seek support without judgment. Remember, sharing your struggles can ease the weight and foster connections with those who truly care.

PERSONAL TIP – As an Aquarius, I find that my approach to navigating this cosmic energy, especially when it brings up unfinished business and overwhelming emotions, is to set strong boundaries. During times like these, I prioritize my own well-being by stepping back from interactions that negatively impact my vibe. It’s not about avoiding conflict, but rather about preserving the clarity and energy I need to move forward. If I choose to deal with certain individuals later, that’s entirely up to me. This self-care strategy resonates deeply with my Aquarian nature, allowing me to maintain balance and focus on my personal growth.

As we embrace this year, let’s do so with an understanding of these complexities. Allow the Full Moon to guide you in releasing what no longer serves you, while cultivating the self-compassion and structures you need for personal growth.

Every January we perform the same type of full moon ritual which includes specific rites to Janus, the Roman goddess of beginnings and transitions. Janus embodies the duality of looking both forward and backward, making her the perfect deity to invoke as we enter a new year. Her presence encourages us to reflect on our past experiences while simultaneously setting intentions for the future.

Rituals dedicated to Janus serve as powerful catalysts for transformation, helping us to release old patterns and embrace new opportunities. By acknowledging her, we align ourselves with the energies of renewal and clarity, allowing us to approach our goals for 2026 with a fresh perspective. As we invoked Janus, we created a sacred space for introspection, empowering ourselves to dismantle obstacles from the previous year while paving the way for the manifestations we wish to attract.

 

With the energies of the Full Moon and the guiding influence of Janus, this was an opportune time to focus on our mundane goals for 2026:

1. Reflection and Clarity: Coven members were able to reflect on their intentions, determining what aspects of their lives they wished to transform or enhance. Janus encouraged us to examine our previous experiences, helping to reveal what lessons have shaped our paths.
2. Setting Intentions: The combination of Cancer’s nurturing energy and Janus’s transitional spirit guided us in crafting clear, actionable intentions. Each intention set under this Full Moon carried the weight of emotional significance, making them more grounded in reality.
3. Ritual Practices: Many of you engaged in rituals that involved writing down your goals, creating vision boards, or performing candle magic. By harnessing the lunar energy, you connected deeply with your desires, amplifying their potential for manifestation. (Some people indeed received acknowledgement from our Gods regarding your goals).
