the four elements

According to the Ancient Greeks, the universe is made of four elements, earth, air, fire, and water. Plus the non-material world by ether or spirit. These elements play a vital part in casting spells today. When you are casting a spell you are using a specific element for the energy it can bring to your spell.

Also, Western astrology divides the 12 zodiac signs into the four elements that exist in our natural world: fire, earth, air, and water. These relate to specific personality traits and tendencies.
