Question 1. Do you write the name of the person around the candle or up and down?
You can write the name on the candle down the length of the candle. You can also write the name onto the doll itself – with a black marker. The key is to have as much personality and personal attachment as possible e.g. for you the spell caster to have no doubt that the voodoo doll is in fact, YOU, and the other doll is in fact THE TARGET.
2. Does the candle have to burn all the way down.
For the initial spell YES, This is why its best to use short candles. You really only want to spend 15 minutes or so meditating or focusing on the spell intention on completion.
