Grimorium Verum is one of the most notorious handbooks of black magic of this solomonic style– one of the few that deals openly with spirits of darkness. People have long sought the aid of non-physical beings; the biblical king Solomon in particular had a reputation since ancient times for commanding demons. Grimorium Verum is one of the easier texts. It includes a catalog of specific demons and how to draw on their powers.
In the first part is contained various dispositions of characters, by which powers the spirits or, rather, the devils are invoked, to make them come when you will, each according to his power, and to bring whatever is asked: and that without any discomfort, providing also that they are content on their part; for this sort of creature does not give anything for nothing.
