On the nite of the December Full Moon in New Orleans, the air was crisp but not cold, and a mist crept over the city, weaving its way through the streets, buildings, and trees. The moon hung low and heavy in the sky, casting an ethereal glow over the landscape. This mist seemed almost alive, adding an eerie, yet mystical quality to the night. As the city held its breath under the Full Moon’s light, there was a palpable sense of transformation in the air—an invitation to delve into the depths of the self, to confront the shadows, and to emerge stronger, empowered, and reborn.
With every Full Moon, there’s an opportunity for completion and release, especially as the year comes to an end. The December Full Moon marks a time when we can look back on the past and shed what no longer serves us—preparing ourselves for the renewal and rebirth that a new year promises.
For this sacred time, I chose to work with Lilith, a powerful demonic figure associated with the moon and the feminine energy of empowerment. As a force of transformation, liberation, and shadow work, Lilith’s energy aligns perfectly with the intentions of the December Full Moon. The moon, in all its mysterious glory, reflects the themes of rebirth, healing, and empowerment—and Lilith serves as the ultimate guide through this journey.

As part of the Full Moon Ritual, I ask each of you to write your personal petition, specifying what you wish to release and what you want to receive. The Full Moon illuminates these shadows, revealing aspects of our inner world that need healing and attention. And as Lilith teaches, embracing these aspects of our shadow self is not something to be feared, but something to be empowered by.
Homework: Rituals for Embracing Lilith’s Energy
To help you embrace Lilith’s message and channel her energy after the December Full Moon, here is a simple yet powerful ritual of release and empowerment:
1. Prepare for the Ritual
Set the tone for your ritual by preparing a sacred space. Gather the following supplies:
- A black or red candle (symbolizing transformation and empowerment).
- A white candle (symbolizing new beginnings and purity).
- Incense—preferably sandalwood or patchouli, for grounding and spiritual connection.
- A journal and pen to write your intentions and reflections.
- Or if you want to be like me, I record my voice during the rituals. This is much easier for me personally because my hands are normally dirty, and I don’t want to touch my phone or a pen and paper. I make sure I save the recording date, and I listen back to any comments or concerns or notes, taking observations at a later time in my diary or to the client in an email.

3. Release the Old
Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Take several deep breaths, allowing yourself to relax deeply. Visualize the things, habits, and emotions that no longer serve you—toxic relationships, fears, insecurities, and self-doubt. As you breathe in, absorb the painful energy. As you breathe out, release these old energies, imagining them dissolving and dissipating into the air, leaving your body and mind.
Option – if you wrote your desires on paper: When you’re ready, burn the paper safely, releasing these attachments into the air
4. Set Empowering Intentions
Now, it’s time to manifest your desires for the coming month. What new opportunities, qualities, or shifts do you wish to bring into your life? Write these down, focusing on empowerment, growth, and personal freedom.
Lilith’s energy will support you in this process—she offers the courage to step boldly into new spaces, to embrace your sovereignty, and to manifest your deepest desires. As you write, channel her energy, feeling yourself becoming stronger and more aligned with your true purpose.
5. Close the Ritual
Sit in stillness for a few moments, basking in the energy. Thank Lilith for her guidance and protection. Seal your intentions by stating aloud:
“I release what no longer serves me. I step into my true power, embracing freedom, transformation, and self-sovereignty. With Lilith’s guidance, I am reborn and ready to manifest my highest desires in the coming month”
Allow the candles to burn down naturally, or extinguish them safely when you feel the ritual is complete.
NOTE – as the New Year approaches……. You can modify the above Ritual and instead saying for the coming month say for the coming year instead. Make your annual goal to Lilith!
