Three Types of Satanic Ritual

There are many different ways to perform Satanic rituals. The Satanic Bible is not the only source, and it is not the final word. Different currents approach ritual in different ways, some far more elaborate and some far more spirit-focused.

What we like about the three rituals LaVey outlined is that they are straightforward, especially for people who are still relatively new. They are built primarily on the energy of your own vessel — your emotion, your will, and your focused attention — rather than requiring complex tools, long invocations, or external spirit contracts.

That makes them practical and accessible while still being effective when done with real intensity.

The Satanic Bible breaks the work down into three clear types of ritual, each driven by a different core emotion:

Lust Ritual This one is fuelled by sexual desire and attraction. You raise genuine arousal and direct that charge toward a specific person or outcome. The physical energy in your body becomes the main force of the working. It is direct, embodied, and does not rely on complicated ceremony.

Compassion Ritual This ritual channels care, protectiveness, or the desire to help. You gather that feeling and send it toward someone who needs support — or toward yourself. It is quieter than the other two but still deliberate. The strength comes from the sincerity of the emotion rather than from volume or drama.

Destruction Ritual This is the sharpest of the three. It is driven by anger, contempt, or the clear will to remove or break something. You raise that force and push it at the target. The emotion has to be real. Weak or performed anger produces weak results.

These are not the only Satanic rituals that exist. They are simply a clean, usable set of examples that show how emotional energy from your own vessel can be shaped into effective work. Treat them as starter frameworks. Your own timing, space, and personal style will change how you actually perform them — that is how the work becomes yours.

The Satanic Bible clearly shares all 3 Satanic Rituals

If you want the original structure and wording, read the Satanic Bible.

If you want to adapt them to your own practice, take the core idea and make it fit the way you actually work.

Mechanics of the Lust Ritual

The Lust Ritual is powered almost entirely by genuine sexual charge. The emotion and physical arousal are the fuel. Without real heat in the body, the working stays weak.

Obviously, I can’t write down the exact ritual here, as it is copyrighted to the book.

Here is the basic structure:

  1. Choose a clear target or outcome Decide exactly what you want. A specific person, a type of encounter, or a defined sexual result. Vague desire produces vague results.
  2. Raise real arousal You must generate actual sexual energy in your body. This is not intellectual. Use whatever reliably creates genuine physical and emotional charge for you. The strength of the ritual depends on how real and intense that charge becomes.
  3. Focus the energy on the target While the arousal is strong, hold a clear mental image of the desired outcome. See the person responding, the situation unfolding, or the result already happening. Keep the image specific and sustained.
  4. Direct and release At the peak of the charge, push the energy toward the target with full intention. Some people climax at this point and use the orgasm as the release. Others build the energy high and send it without climax. Either method works if the force is real and the direction is clear.
  5. Close the working Once the energy is sent, stop. Do not keep feeding it or obsessing over the target. Close the space and return to ordinary awareness.

The entire ritual rests on the quality of the emotion and the clarity of the direction. Props, candles, or images can help focus attention, but they are secondary. The real engine is the sexual current raised in your own body and aimed with precision.

Energy Source

LaVey’s rituals sit inside a formal structure that uses specific verbal elements. The main “words of power” come from two places:

  1. The Infernal Names He lists a collection of names drawn from various traditions (Satan, Lucifer, Belial, Leviathan, and many others). These are called during the opening of the ritual to focus the current and declare the nature of the working.
  2. The Enochian Keys LaVey adopted the Enochian Calls (particularly the First Key and others) as the primary magical language of the rituals. These are recited as the formal “words of power” that open the space and charge the working. The First Enochian Key is the one most commonly used at the beginning of a standard Satanic ritual.

For the Lust Ritual itself, the verbal component is secondary to the sexual charge. The practitioner still opens with the standard ritual framework (including the appropriate Infernal Names and the relevant Enochian Key), then moves into the focused arousal and direction of energy toward the target.

The words establish the space and the authority of the working; the sexual force provides the actual fuel.

What are Enochian Keys ?

The Enochian Keys (also called the Enochian Calls) are a set of 19 invocations written in the Enochian language, received in the late 16th century by John Dee and Edward Kelley through scrying. In their original context they were used to open the thirty Aethyrs (or Aires) and to call specific angelic forces within the Enochian system.

In practical terms, the Keys function as structured verbal current. When spoken with focus and correct vibration, they do several things:

  • They shift the operator’s consciousness out of ordinary mental noise and into a more charged, ritual state.
  • They act as a formal key that “opens” the working space, signalling to both the magician’s mind and any present forces that a deliberate operation has begun.
  • They carry a dense, archaic sonic quality that many practitioners find effective for raising and focusing energy, even when the full angelic system is not being used.

NOTE – We believe LaVey added the Enochian Keys for practical and theatrical reasons, not because he was committed to the original Dee-and-Kelley angelic system.

He understood that ritual needs weight. Ordinary English often feels too flat or everyday to shift consciousness effectively. The Enochian language has a dense, unfamiliar, almost alien sound. When spoken with force, it creates an immediate change in atmosphere and mental state. That sonic quality helps the participant leave ordinary thinking and enter a more charged, focused condition.

LaVey was heavily influenced by earlier ceremonial magic, especially Crowley and the Golden Dawn, but he had no interest in their religious or angelic frameworks. He kept what he considered useful technology and discarded the theology. The Keys were one of the most effective pieces of verbal technology available, so he took them.

In the Church of Satan’s rituals the Keys function mainly as:

  • A formal opening that signals the working has begun
  • A sonic tool that raises intensity and focus
  • A way to give the ritual an archaic, serious tone without requiring belief in Enochian angels

LaVey treated them as psychological and energetic instruments. The real power of the Lust, Compassion, and Destruction rituals still comes from the emotion the operator raises. The Enochian Key simply provides a strong formal frame and a shift in consciousness that makes that emotion easier to concentrate and direct.

In short, he added them because they work as ritual language, not because he accepted the original metaphysical system behind them.

BWC THOUGHTS

Regardless of what anyone thinks of LaVey or these particular rituals, systems like the Enochian Keys carry real weight. They have been spoken, focused on, and charged by many practitioners over a long period. That repeated attention and use has built a current into them. Whether you call it an egregore, a thought-form complex, or simply an accumulated field of force, the result is the same: the words and the structure already hold power independent of any single operator.

If you are looking for effective ways to raise and focus energy, these kinds of established verbal and sonic systems are worth considering.

You do not have to accept the original theology or the full traditional framework to make use of the charge that already exists within them.

Many workers treat them as ready-made tools for shifting consciousness and intensifying a working. Used with clear intention, they can add density and momentum that plain language often lacks.

Personally, I love the simplicity of LaVey’s three key rituals, as they’re simple to learn and apply to your magical practices without having to become a master –
