About Crystal Balls
Not all Witches possess a crystal ball but it is another tool strongly identified with magical practice. Most familiarly, a crystal ball is used as a tool for scrying, but it can be used just as effectively as an instrument for storing psychic energy.
Modern substitutes are glass, black obsidian, and even plastic.

Care and Storage
Most Witches believe that it should never be exposed to direct sunlight and should be kept wrapped up in a dark natural cloth (such as velvet or silk) in a pouch or a box.
Periodically, it should be bathed in the light of the Full Moon to help recharge its psychical properties.
