About BWC Jar Spells
At our temple, we have multiple altars for various conditions such as – Love – Money – Protection – Cursing.
The Jar Will be prepared and placed at the appropriate altar. Over the course of one full moon period or a month, the jar is worked, meaning prayed over and attended to. Candles are also lit either on the jar or beside the jar to keep the work alive over a period of a month.
Our clients have requested that we provide more options for keeping the jars on the altar. This is convenience, the client so we don’t have to continuously send a monthly reminder to keep the jar active.

Jar spells have been used in Hoodoo and Folk Magic for a long time. Depending on your situation, the specific container type would depend on what you are trying to achieve, such as:
A Sweetening Jar – Sweetening or Honey jar spells act by sweetening someone towards you and promoting love, kindness and harmony. Sweeting jar magic is a lovely example of sympathetic and gentle magic. There are many situations that can benefit:
- for love
- to make a boss like you more
- to encourage specific clients to work with you
- Make a judge sway them in your favour.
- You can also use a sweetening jar spell on yourself, in order to feel more loving and kind towards other people or attractive to others
A Sour Jar – cursing a target. Sour jars are used to literally sour someone’s life. Sour jars are considered defensive magic and aim to make the targets’ life miserable, sour, and otherwise destroyed.
Sour jars can be used:
- To curse a person
- To sour and break up relationships be it romantic, familial, or otherwise.
Protection Jar/Spell – it is popular to make a protective witch bottle around Samhain in order to keep malevolent and negative energies away from your home and family.
This service can cover any of the above situations. If you are needing something else, please let us know at the time of order.
Jars for Banishing
Jars are commonly used to trap harmful energies or banish negative influences. The most common method involves filling a jar with substances that correspond to the desired outcome (e.g., protective herbs, vinegar for banishment), and then sealing the jar to lock in the energy or intention
Crossing Jar for Curse Removal A crossing jar is used in Hoodoo to trap curses or negative energies. This type of container spell involves using objects that are traditionally seen as “unlucky” or “crossed,” such as vinegar or nails. The goal is to trap and neutralize the bad energy or to turn away ill luck.
Commanding Jar for Influence or Control Sometimes in Hoodoo, a jar spell is used to exert influence over a person or situation, especially if you’re trying to control or command them to act in a way that’s favorable to you.
