The full moon event is a modification of the traditional drawing down of the moon and our own Black Witch Coven dedication to our Gods & Goddesses.
In January we always focus on a specific goddess as well as the drawing down to the moon ritual. And because we always love to kick off the year with asking for blessings from traditional sources, we’re not going to change it. Janus receives our January offering always! If you want to join in we’re happy to do this ritual for you as well!
Post Ritual Feedback
Savannah thank-you so much for doing the full moon ritual.Glad to hear the bay leaf went fast it must have needed to go in a hurry for a reason. And I think the photos are excellent , I can see quite a few spirits present. My goal is to book a consultation with you lady ,you truly are a dark Goddess, beautiful beyond words,I feel privileged just to get to watch you and hear from you. I know I am not alone there. I saw your face on the wall ,and it was exactly like your new one on the coven site. I sometimes see things like that before I actually see them in real life. Plus I had a vivid dream in ancient underground setting, the walls were covered in tiny sigils, no plain walls and they were different from the demonology ones I have seen. Then I saw the thick rust colored snake busy working on something moving forward, but I did not see the head, needless to say I wondered what it meant , As Always Angela.

God/Goddess of The Night: JANUS
If you’ve ever wondered how the month of January got its name, you have Janus to thank. Some ancient sources, however, say that Juno, the wife of the chief Roman god, Jupiter, was the goddess of the month, and even that January is named after her rather than Janus. January, is also said to be named after the Hindu Lord Ganesh!
But this year, we celebrate Janus on the first Full Moon Event.
Jan. 1 was New Year’s Day for the ancient Romans, who regarded beginnings as indicators or omens for whatever would follow. Accordingly, on the first day of January they would exchange good wishes as well as honey, dates, figs and coins.
In Roman mythology, Janus was the God transitions. Janus represented the middle ground between both concrete and abstract dualities such as life/death, beginning/end, youth/adulthood, rural/urban, war/peace, and barbarism/civilization.
According to Roman mythology, Janus was present at the beginning of the world. As the god of gates, Janus guarded the gates of heaven and held access to heaven and other gods. For this reason, Janus was often invoked first in ancient Roman religious ceremonies, and during public sacrifices, offerings were given to Janus before any other deity. In fact, there is evidence that Janus was worshipped long before many of the other Roman gods, dating all the way back to the time of Romulus (the founder and first ruler of Rome).
As the god of transitions and dualities, Janus is portrayed with two faces—one facing the past, and one facing the future. He also holds a key in his right hand, which symbolizes his protection of doors, gates, thresholds, and other separations or openings between spatial boundaries.
This Full Moon Think About The Transitional Period You Are In…
Because events like a new year are, in a sense, doorways between the past and future, it’s beneficial to honour them: Reflect on what you’ve experienced, plan and set goals for the future, and celebrate change and transformation.
If you only do one ritual this year this needs to be the one!
DID YOU KNOW….The entire world was following a Hindu calendar before we all changed over to Roman “Julian” Calendar. The year would begin in March, not January.
Why should you clear your thoughts on a monthly basis?
The releasing and abundance ritual is about clearing your mind. Releasing the negative thoughts, and set the intention to bring you what you need in your life right now.
Your thoughts create vibrations throughout the universes, which makes setting intentions a powerful tool for achieving happiness and well-being. Intentions are like magnets. They attract what will make them come true. Setting an intention is a powerful tool for achieving happiness.
Having a clear purpose provides us with insight into our aspirations, dreams, and values. It also helps us live in the present moment instead of being caught in negative thought patterns. Those negative thoughts are what you need to write down and release this month.
Stuck on setting goals?
Crafting an intention starts by setting goals that align with your values, aspirations, and purpose.
- Decide what matters to you. Your values drive the actions in your life, and you’ll need to recognize what truly matters to you if you want to find fulfillment.
- Explore areas of your life that need an upgrade. Consider how you can improve your relationships, career, social life, spirituality, health, and community.
- Be specific about what you want to achieve, when you want to achieve it, and why.
- Bring your intentions to life. In this ritual, we will ask you to write them down. Make sure you write them in the present tense, as if they’re happening now, and affirm only what you want. You should also write down your goal, the end result of what you wish to manifest. Put feeling into it!
After you make your purchase, we will ask you to write one releasing item and one abundance item. If you have several items, keep them for next month and join us once again. If you have nothing specific to ask for, we have our own petition that we use for our long-term clients, so don’t feel pressured to come up with something.
Feedback Date:
- Allow me at least 3 to 5 weekdays after the ritual to send you my thoughts and update.
Information required for this ritual:
-
- After payment, you will find the list of the required information.
- You will also find my email address, and that is where you’ll send the information.
- Do not send your info to the support email address.
A Common Question: Why do Sorcerers & Witches Love The Night?
As every Left-Hand Path magician knows, the moonlight and nighttime foster an exceptionally great time and space to perform a ritual. While virtually everyone sleeps overnight, the etheric plane that envelopes earth becomes clear and peaceful, thus our evocations act like a lightning rod to spirits, and our spells cut right across the ether without interference. This provides a black magician and lunar witch an environment of extremely heightened energy for magick impregnation.
Needless to say, in the daytime, the local area of the etheric plane becomes muddy and filled with human ideas, pains, wishes, regrets, sadness, excitement, etc.
We sorcerers love the night because it provides us the clearest channel for our magick—among many other reasons too such as identification with lunar deities.
