MAX USE FOR YOUR FEATURE IMAGE

According to ancient Mesopotamian mythology, Basmu is a venomous snake that is equivalent to the Greek Hydra. It is also referred to as the “sea dragon snake”. This creature is one of the 11 monsters created by Tiamat. According to a legend, he is the first dragon serpent created by Tiamat, and it is assumed that several types of Basmu were created. The first type is called the Venomous Snake or Usum/Basmu while the other is called the Birth Goddess Snake or Mussatirr/Basmu. This is the horned type of snake.

According to the Assyrian myth, this dragon was created in the sea and is about sixty double miles long. It lives in the sea mainly the Tigris and Euphrates but sometimes it goes to dry land to feed on livestock. It was said that it devoured birds, fish, wild asses, and men. This action made the gods angry so they sent Nergal or Palil (snake charmer) to go and vanquish it.

This serpent is related to the underworld god, Ningizida and it may be one of the two-horned serpents that are seen on the staff of Ningizida. Amongst all dragons, Basmu is one specie that you can communicate with using the languages of snakes.

Appearances:

Basmu is a horned snake with two forelegs, thin sharp teeth and according to Enuma Elish, he has six mouths, seven tongues, beautiful in appearance but highly poisonous. Although, they cannot fly they possess wings like frills behind their forelegs and this is used when swimming.

When conjured, Basmu usually appears as a brown or golden flying serpent with small curved horns. He rises from the lakes and flies so high in the air. Sometimes he manifests in a ring of fire and so is considered a mediator between the principles of fire and water. He has a very fiery essence and when evoked, his wings appear with fire. When requested to transform, he may appear in human form with an alien pale skin, large eyes, big head, and curved horns.

Magickal Abilities of Basmu:

  • Basmu inspires dreams of disasters, earthquakes, and apocalyptic visions.
  • He holds dominion over the venomous fire that burns the world of matter and annihilates all fleshy limitations.
  • This fiery serpent rises into the cosmic space and devours the sun, planets, and stars then he goes to the streams of blood and vomits them in there. This forms a new cosmos in the eternal cycle of renewal.
  • He teaches the practitioner how to use highly destructive magical fire.
  • He endows him with the ability to expand his consciousness beyond the limitations of flesh.
  • He teaches the practitioner how to shapeshift into a fiery serpent and fly on the wings of flame.
  • He also teaches him how to breathe fire and use this essence to burn every obstacle found on his astral path.
  • He teaches him how to protect his aura by surrounding it with impenetrable flames.
  • He teaches him how to transform blood into liquid fire.
  • This serpent possesses violent energy that can be used for both destructive and protective purposes. For example, the practitioner may use this energy to plague a victim with burning pain or poison his blood.
  • Conjurers use his venomous essence to empower ritual tools (daggers, axes, blades, razors, etc.) used in death magic.

Fiery Serpent!

Bringer of Apocalypse!

Come with your venomous flames,

And burn the world so that it could be reborn in the Womb of

Chaos!

Arise with primal terror and fearsome splendor,

And swallow the sun!

Show me how to destroy and create,

How to vomit worlds and devour my enemies!

Hear my call and come to me!

Enter my body which I offer you as Temple,

Cleanse my flesh with your venomous fire,

And lift my soul on your seething breath!

Come from beyond Time,

And teach me how to rise above the stars!

Rain down fire upon my enemies,

And poison the blood in their veins!

Leave them screaming in burning agony!

Enter this Temple of Flesh,

Emblaze my soul with your consuming Fire,

And intoxicate my dreams with the visions of the Black Sun!

I invoke you in the name of the Dragon!

In Nomine Draconis!

Ho Drakon Ho Megas!

GOING FURTHER

  • Burn the parchment with the sigil and as the smoke arises, it shall carry your petition to the planes.
  • At this point, let your consciousness merge with the essence of Basmu in ecstatic communion. Visualize that you are flying on the fiery wings of this demon. Continue to meditate on this as you enter into the trance of possession through sexual ecstasy.
  • Feel how this fiery serpent ascends and coils around your spine.
  • Empowered by his essence, feel the ascension of your soul to the stars.
  • Continue to enjoy this communion and explore the powers of this demon.

At this point, you can use his powers to do whatever you wish. For example, if you wish to harm someone, envision yourself in the form of a fiery serpent, and with your victim standing in front of you, bounce on him quickly and bite him. Suck out his life essence and poison his blood. Spit fire on him and visualize how your victim groans in pain.

You can also drop venom into the third eye of your victim. This will cause a burning sensation in this head. Gradually, the sensations shall spread throughout his whole body. While your victim collapses and groans in pain, be ecstatic, and enjoy this feeling.

When you wish, you can end the working and return to your mundane consciousness. Finally, thank the spirit and close the ritual.

Warning:

Rituals open the gateways of the soul and those doors can never be closed again. For that reason, I strongly advise that casual experimentation with these rituals should be avoided. Due to the complex nature of this ritual, I would suggest that you have some experience before practicing this ritual. Also, whether you are experienced or not, kindly tread with caution because these are not designed for dabblers. They are designed for serious pathworking.
