Luck

Have you noticed that some people are always lucky? They win all games and lottery, have a wonderful relationship, get the best job offers or promotions, and everything seems to be working in their favour. Whereas, other people never get lucky no matter how hard they try. I believe luck is accumulative. It begins with a mindset, and then following your specific actions, positive events begin to happen in your life, and it just snowballs from there.

Luck magic, is its own specific type of magic. To be successful in luck style magic, I would focus on what you want to be lucky in. To demonstrate what I’m talking about we are going to look at the ingredients in a basic fast luck style oil.

I will add that fast luck oils are different from gambling oils, especially when it comes to conjure work. The ingredients are also slightly different than if you were creating a money drawing oil. Naturally, some of these ingredients overlap between the various magical systems, so it’s worth your while to research each ingredient before you use it.

Let me give you an example by talking about which oil I would use if desiring fast luck when gambling. My favourite for gambling is not Fast Luck Oil, but an oil called Has No Hannah Conjure Oil. This is a New Orleans formula for luck that’s been around for quite a long time. Many gamblers choose to rub it on their hands before playing dice and other games of chance that require the use of their hands, such as cards, gambling machines, and Bingo. You can also use this oil to anoint any lucky charms you may carry.

If you want a quick recipe for Has no Hannah oil: vetiver, mandarin, gardenia and jasmine with luck drawing herbs bring fast luck and brighten the spirit. Make it the authentic way and add an open safety pin in the master bottle.

Fast Luck Herbs

Let’s begin by discussing some ingredients I like to use in Fast Luck oils:

allspice – Magically, allspice is popular in Hoodoo for drawing luck and money. It is ruled by Mars, so also consider it for protection, building courage, and making change.

Angelica root  – a traditional Herb used for luck in many traditions

  • The Blackfoot tribe utilized the root to increase their power but also to bless other people with a long life and good luck. No
  • Wild angelica also functioned as a gambling charm amongst the Blackfoot, either being held in the hand or mouth or tied to the bridle of a horse in racing.
  • The Mendocino carried it as a gambling charm.
  • Kwakiutl Indians tied a bit on their fishing hook for fishing luck
  • Lolahnkok Indian fellows rubbed some of the plant on the neck and hands of a young woman to get her to say yes. 🙂

Bergamot  – is identified with Virgo and Aquarius in the Zodiac. Some use it to draw money, especially when it is owed (added to Command and Compel); others use it for luck, particularly when gambling.

Bayberry – is one of my favourite money-drawing herbs, so consider it if you’re doing luck spells for money. Magical uses include spells for good luck and fortune, healing, stress relief, and money.

Black Cat Bone –This magically treated root, known as a Black Cat Bone, is a powerful addition to spellwork involving fast luck, success, or business.

High John The Conqueror Root– is a powerful component in spell work around luck

Lodestones, as natural magnets, have been used for centuries within magick to attract positive forces and repel bad luck.

Lucky Hand Root – This somewhat rare herb has a reputation within magical tradition for bringing good luck and protecting its own from harm. Used in Mojo bags or as a talisman to wear. Some practitioners use it as an amulet as part of the lottery , running, playing and gambling.

Rose Hips – it is used to call in good spirits and for good luck.

Spearmint –  In magic practices, it may be used for prosperity, good luck, healing, psychic development, and protection

Witches Grass can be a powerful ingredient in spells for happiness, good luck, overcoming obstacles,

Wintergreen – is known to draw good luck, and good money. It’s also known to help with sexual matters. In witchcraft, we see wintergreen used in practices around protection, healing, water magic, hex breaking and for Lunar magic.

Fast Luck Oil Recipes

Over the years, Hoodoo practitioners have formulated different recipes for preparing this oil.  Traditionally, the oil contains herbal essences that quicken up the spell. However, due to different body sensitivity, we usually give precautions on how some of the herbs should be used.

If you like to say Psalms over the oil as you’re creating it:

  • psalm 4 would be the most appropriate. This prayer is specifically to have good luck, and repeat it three times
  • 23 to ask for what you desire
  • 57 is to have luck in what you do
  • 72 is to live happily and free of wanting, and free of poverty

Fast Luck Oil – New Orleans Version

Fast luck oil is one of the most ubiquitous formulas produced in New Orleans. It is commonly used when you need good luck in a hurry. Be it good luck in love, money, to win a game, to pass an interview.

The New Orleans formula for Fast Luck is quite simply a combination of Cinnamon, Vanilla, and Wintergreen.

Savannah’s Fast Luck Conjure Oil

In my fast luck oil:

  • A lodestone is always placed in the master bottle. Sometimes I create a version using a high john root instead of the lodestone
  • Angelica
  • Wintergreen
  • Bergamot
  • Allspice

FAST LUCK OIL RECIPE – Witchcraft style

Items Needed:

  • A small bottle
  • 10 drops wintergreen oil
  • 10 drops vanilla oil
  • 10 drops cinnamon oil
  • A carrier such as almond oil

Cinnamon is considered a hot spice that works quickly when added to the formula. It is good for attracting money luck.

Vanilla is good for attracting luck in love while Wintergreen is useful for attracting money luck especially through gambling. It is also good for sex luck. However, wintergreen should not be ingested internally as it is highly toxic.

For extra power, you can suspend a small piece of alkanet root (also known as Bloodroot) in the bottle. Also, for money spells you can add gold or silver glitter.

Preparatory Steps:

  • Combine the essential and carrier oils in the bottle.
  • Shake well and repeat for at least three times.

Say this

Fast Luck, Fast Luck Bring to me my desire.

  • Add other ingredients. Place the bottle in a cool dark place for at least twenty four hours for the oils to blend.

Wishing Spells

Carry Luck charms on you:

A little luck charm in your pocket or purse can attract luck to you if you believe in its power. In hoodoo, lucky charms are often put in a Mojo or a gris gris bag and worn on your person. It’s important that it touches your skin for most types of blessings. Otherwise, it could be put in a wallet or in a pocket, somewhere that you touch it when you need its magical inspiration and blessing.

If you have a certain object that inspires you, you can use it as a good luck charm. Always carry it on you. In witchcraft, it is more common that you wear the talisman on your skin. Such as with rings, earrings, or necklaces.

Luck Spells

If you would like us to do a spell to bring you luck:

Luck Spell

There are several EASY spells you can cast to attract good luck to you. For example, you can use the power of the full moon to call luck and money to your house. How do you do this? On a full moon night, fill a pot with water then put a silver coin into it. Ensure that the surface of the water reflects the moon. Then gently pass your hand through the water and recite this:

“Oh Powerful Moon! Bring me wealth and luck. I fill my heart with silver and positive emotions so good luck can enter my life”

Luck Spell

On the night of a full moon, look towards it and say aloud these words

“Lady of Luck come to out of your hidden course,

Bless your light upon me as the light of the moon shines above

And in the light of luck will I be blessed

When the moon is next to be full

So mote it be “

When saying this, imagine your life being enriched with luck
