Banishing is perfect for those that wish to bring a feeling of greater peace to their life or home. A banishment spell can free your life of any form of negativity.
Depending on what you need to banish, different spells may be more effective than others. For example, some common banishment spells include those for removing negative energy or entities from a space, banishing an unwanted habit or addiction, cutting ties with toxic people or situations, or removing obstacles and barriers to success.
Some people would say a banishing spell would work to generally get them to leave, and a binding spell would keep them from bothering you or causing trouble and in my experience, they’re easier to cast.
People often ask if a freezer spell is a banishing spell? A freezer spell is usually used to keep someone from doing something troublesome, such as gossiping. It’s similar to a binding spell. It should not be conflated with a *banishing* spell, which is the sort of magic one would use to remove someone from your life. But it can freeze them, so perhaps we are splitting hairs! Simply write the person’s name on a small piece of paper then seal it in a small container filled with water and put it at the back of your freezer. While you do this, think deeply on the person, and how they will gone from your life, never to cause trouble again.

If you need to banish/remove negative energy from your space, a simple cleansing ritual involving burning sage or other purifying herbs may suffice. However, if you need to banish a specific person, a more complex spell may be required. One such spell involves creating an effigy of the person using materials such as clay, wax, or cloth, focusing your intention on them, and reciting an incantation specific to the type of banishment you wish to perform.
A banishing spell itself is immediate. The effects of the spell, though, depend on what’s being banished and how deeply it’s woven into your being.

Banishing Rituals for Witches
Salt Circle
One of the simplest and most effective banishment spells is the salt circle. To cast this spell, simply draw a circle around yourself or the area you want to protect with salt. You can use your finger, a wand, or even a salt shaker to do this. Once the circle is drawn, visualize a white light emanating from the salt and protecting you from all negative energy.
Fire Ritual
Another effective banishment spell is the fire ritual. To cast this spell, gather some wood and kindling and build a small fire. As the fire burns, visualize all of the negative energy you want to banish being consumed by the flames. You can also write down your intentions and burn them in the fire.
Water Cleansing
Water is also a powerful element that can be used for banishment. To cast this spell, fill a bowl with water and add some salt or other cleansing herbs. Then, visualize all of the negative energy you want to banish being washed away by the water. You can then splash the water on yourself or the area you want to cleanse.
Banishing Herbs
There are a number of different herbs that can be used for banishment, such as rosemary, sage, and lavender. To cast this spell, simply burn some of the herbs or make a tea with them. You can then drink the tea, splash it on yourself or the area you want to cleanse, or diffuse it into the air.
Banishing Chants
You can also use a banishing chant to remove negative energy from your life. There are many different chants that you can use, but here is a simple one:
Negative energy, leave me be. I banish you from my life. I am protected and safe. So be it.
Repeat this chant as many times as needed until you feel that the negative energy has been banished.

Magickal Oil Blends for Banishing Rituals:
For banishment, you can use Banishing Oil, Van Van Oil, Hunter’s Oil, Go Away Evil Oil, Jinxing Removing Oil, Protection Oil, etc. There are different methods of applying the oil. For example:
- Wear on your body and ritual tools to keep negative energy far away from you.
- Rub some on the floors, doors, furniture, window pane etc.. to get rid of any negative influence around the home.
- At your workplace, rub Banishing oil on your desk to keep gossips and troublesome colleagues away.
Make your own Banishing Oil
Banishing oil should be made during the dark of the Moon. It is good for general banishing, purification, anointing, feeding charms and amulets, dressing candles for luck, and meditation.
This is a modified version of the classic “Hoodoo” style Oil, I use lemongrass, citronella, palmarosa, ginger grass, vetiver, and lemon vervain.
Our method
- Mix these items well and then begin to add castor oil until you reach a desired viscosity!
- On Stove top – HEAT and not boil
- Store for a FEW MONTHS at least!
Uses for Banishing Oil:
- Use it by anointing candles upon your altar or in an aromatherapy lamp or diffuser in your home to help remove negative influences and negative energies from your life.
- Use this oil to anoint a black candle for use in operations of exorcism. It could be added to mop water to drive out unwanted spirits, malevolent entities, poltergeists, negative energy, etc.
- Banishing oil can be used to get rid of a harmful person in your life. For this you could anoint a black image candle representing the person and burn it, or a poppet or voodoo doll and either bury it or send it in the mail to an undeliverable location, which in a form of sympathetic magic will cause the person to leave (there is more to this I’ll explain later)
- You can add a few drops of the oil to the bathwater to rid yourself of harmful energy cords, anger, jealousy, addictions or any negative thought patterns that need to be released.
