Reading Jar Candles is different from reading the messages from free-standing candles. The candle jar creates its own container. The messages we can clearly observe include: reading the jar for black or white smoke, and checking for the presence of soot; observing if the container is broken; reading the wax remains from the base or sides of the jar.
Savannah’s personal practices
The only time I will really read the glass for myself, is if the jar is dark on completion. If I hear the candle popping or crackling, I will also take notice. Generally this means the spirit is sharing a message with me and I like to see what other observations I can make around what the spirit is suggesting. If the smoke is black or white and there are noises, I will stop whatever I am doing and pay full attention to the candle, taking the appropriate actions as necessary. If the jar cracks or explodes, I go into lockdown mode and also begin to use some of my witchcraft skills to navigate through the warnings from the spirit.
If I am burning candles for a client, I generally will not comment on noise or smoke. Most of the time there is no issue, and the candle just occasionally lets out a little pop or a little puff of smoke. This is normal. If there is something dramatic happening, I will email the client almost immediately. Depending on the messages from the candle, I might suggest some things the client should do at that point in time.
Finally, if you burn a series of candles towards your goal, I believe it is the last candle that you need to focus on the most for your divination result. Of course, consider the entire series, but it’s a final candle that tells you what you should do next.
