Challenges with achieving results
A successful result could mean your petition is heard by the spirits, and the spirits agree your petition is warranted. Your wish or desire will be granted.
I will add here, it’s important to remember that magic is not instant on most occasions. Magic is a journey, and success means that your petition is heard and there are obstacles being moved out of the way in order for you to achieve your goal. Waiting for something to happen doesn’t mean your magic is not successful, it just means that you will achieve your magic in the time it was meant to manifest and not a moment before.
Sometimes, challenges to successful magic can be psychological on your part. Other times there could be multiple people casting magic and it turns into a battle of the witches!
For the best possible result with candle magic, we always recommend you burn multiple candles at the appropriate time to ensure that this journey continues to work towards achieving your outcome.
On this page I will begin to add various challenges our clients face, and some of the advice we share to overcome that challenge. If you have a challenge please leave it in the comment section below, and hopefully we will have a solution for you as well.
Having a focused and clear desire
Are your thoughts congruent with the magical petition you wrote to sit under this candle? Sometimes we have multiple ideas and even a little dissonance about what we are doing. It’s important to have a clear idea about what you think, what you feel, and what you want. Spirit is not going to make that decision for you in candle magic.
The pain from the situation is clouding your energy
Maybe you need some healing or energy work to cleanse yourself to remove negative or hurtful past ideas so you can start fresh.

Consistently clear jar candles on completion but no results
This scenario can be tough and confusing. On one hand, you could be happy and patient to wait for your results to manifest. But how long do you wait? This is the million-dollar question in magic.
Here is the advice I often give clients when we see a series of clear jar candles, especially if what we are asking for is rather challenging to achieve in the real world.
Spirit doesn’t always participate in our magical spells and or listen to our magical requests. When the jar burns with no black smoke, no white smoke, and no wax remaining – I question if spirit was even interested in the request. The first suggestion is to burn another series of candles but you must change the petition. If the spirit wasn’t interested in what you had to ask the first time, it’s a waste of your time and money to continue burning the same series of candles on that petition. Cleanse the area, put out an offering of some type, and then re-light your candle with a brand new petition. That doesn’t mean you write the same old request on a new piece of paper. It means that you have to consider what you were asking for in the first place. (see my comment above about having a focused and clear desire)
You should also perform divination to acquire any other messages from the spiritual world before you begin.

What if it is a high candle that leaves a lot of black smoke at the top of the jar?
Black at top/High Flame
- Bad sign
- Neg forces interfering
What if my candle burns super fast, and sometimes nearly explodes?
Fast Burn/Exploding
- This type of work you are doing can be too strong for you and is backfiring on you, which is common with some people doing any type of negative or dark work. You always run a risk.
- The target (or someone) has gone to see someone to do work.
- Try cleansing all the negativity out of your house first. Take a cleansing bath. Then try a different approach. Break up spells and any spell along those lines run many risks and can complicate matters worse, if the situation is stronger than yourself.
What if I ordered a praise candle and it was dark on the top or anywhere else on the jar. Is that accepted by the spirit?
Spiritual or Praise Candle Dark On Top – personally I don’t like to read offering candles, but if it is important for you to read the signs of an offering candle you could consider the following:
- This means you have some roadblocks.
- Try lighting a road opener candle (7 colors) also another spiritual candle.
- Also, place a small glass of water next to these candles to help with the negativity.
Issues with my pay me candle – the glass turned pitched black half way still burning .fire burned high when I lit it then low. then a few days very high again when it was half way still burning with smoke coming out. then went low when the knot on the steam fall off.
A – This means that the process of you getting paid will take some time, also that someone or something is blocking you from getting paid. Try lighting a road opening candle and another pay me candle.
On my love candle, their was white smoke that came from wick, then the wick while burning formed balls three times but then fell off, now flame is bouncing nonstop what does all this mean
A – good sign, means your spell is free of road blocks and off to a very strong start, but the spirit of the person of interest is fighting. Also that the spirits assisting you have heard your prayers and it wont be long till you see results.
I have noticed that the candle’s flame danced at the bottom of the candle. what does that mean….. the flame danced in a mystical way….it was amazing…
A – Bouncing flames usually means the person who you are working on is not sure. Try using a picture of your ex also underneath the 7 day candle. Or maybe making a two cloths dolls, One of yourself and the other your ex. Inside place a paper with your full name , the other doll with your ex full name. You can also place inside something like human hair. Then tie the two dolls together in a hugging position with a strip of red cloth. Then use a red candle to empower your spell.
What would suggest getting good results for school? To pass the exam, to clear mind blocks, or anxiety.
A – A candle of steady work, road opener, 7-day white candle or a Elegua candle.
Additionally -Buy a coconut and take out the coconut water and put it aside. With the coconut cleanse yourself, then place next to a white candle. Take a bath, then pour the coconut water over your head. This will help purify. Drink a tea made from spearmint to help remove bad thoughts.
